1. OK, I'm a new user to LDDB (though I've known about it for many years). First up: I submitted in email front & back cover pics to a disc that didn't have them in LDDB (the movie is called Hunk). I haven't seen any response or the DB being updated. Do I just wait? Is there a better way than the email? It's obviously not a big deal, just curious.
2. I am looking at a lot of the codes for "Spec" and sometimes I wonder what they are. I don't see (but could be missing?) a "key" anywhere for what they are. e.g. SRD/ANA is less obvious to me. LBX, P&S, easy, but SRD is stumping me. I would think a link to a short summary of these acronyms/codes for new users would be useful. If it doesn't already exist, mind you.
3. I just looked up 940 CS, Roger Rabbit, and there's two entries, which seem to be the same, except one doesn't have a release date. Are they the same? If so, can I suggest somewhere that these entries be merged? I don't know what what to choose for my copy in my collection.

Easy!

1. Covers can take some time. I was away from Japan for a month, just came back yesterday and will start processing covers again soon.

2. Look on the left side, there is an explanation box.

3. Open both entries, the notes at the bottom will provide details on the differences.

2. I do not see what you're referring to. It's possible that Android Chrome is presenting in a mobile format and truncating something i'll have to look on my PC's browser.
3. I did check those notes, and did not see any way to differentiate, but I will look again, closer, and see. BOth Roger Rabbit and REM: Succumb had two entries with the same catalog number but some kind of esoteric difference, I guess. I will re-examine.
OK, a bit later, i figured out which Roger Rabbit I have. It's the 940-1 edition. that is marked on the sleeve.
REM Succumbs is still not 100% to me but the mint marks on mine look like mint marks on the earlier entry so I am going with that.

The site is not the easiest to understand but once you get the hang of it you can see what things you need to look for.

As for the REM that you have, it seems the major difference is the year, one from 87 and the other from 1990.
Barcodes are the same, but as you said the mintmarks are different.

I would check the back of the sleeve to see if you have any date printed of 87 or 90 to figure out which you have.
The other difference is one has analog only audio and the other has both analog and digital, so you can check your sleeve or label on the
disc to see if it says digital audio.

Yes my REM disc had no dates other than 1987 and I think it fits the mint-marks scheme from the first entry. Sleeve also does not mention digital audio.

By the way, this is one of the best designed sites I've seen in the modern era. Look at something like Board Game Geek and then tell me LDDB is confusing.

Who is similar to Forper? Me? I am assuming from context you are referring to a problematic member of the forums? Anyway, not Forper. Happy to provide you with whatever evidence you require to prove it. I’ve been on many, many websites and I don’t know if I’d agree that this is “one of the best designed sites” but it seems incredibly useful so even if I didn’t like the design(or thought it was confusing) I’d still use the site because the database alone is fantastic.

I have (just over the last 48 hours) started to really become accustomed to the site as I add more of my discs to my collection. Any confusion I had is resolving.

Talking about the various "markings", i was wondering why some of my titles are in various shades of red?
And what the "P" and "recycle" sign in front of the title means

Hi wraithypooo,

The red shading you mention indicates that the title is missing the mint markings on its' listing page. You can very easily read these mint markings off your copy of the disc and then do an update to add the mint markings to the page for that release. Once Julien validates your update, the red shading will disappear, because the listing page will now have mint markings. Doing this is a way you can help to add needed information to the database. It would be greatly appreciated! The "P" in a square next to the title means that there is a picture of the front cover only on the listing page for that title. The "recycle" sign, as you refer to it, means that the listing page has pictures of both front and back covers. If the symbol is in red and black, it means that you contributed both front and back cover pictures. If the symbol is in blue, it means that at least one of the pictures was contributed by someone other than you. If there is no "recycle" symbol beside the title, it means the listing page is missing cover pictures entirely. If you are able to contribute any missing cover pictures (front and/or back), this would also be a way for you to help make the site better. This would likewise be greatly appreciated, not only by Julien, but by me, and all of the membership here. In fact, just the other day, I sent two files full of front and back cover photos from my own collection to Julien. He hasn't had time yet to process them. However, I am confident that he will in the coming days, and you will see them appearing here very soon. Remember, good work takes time, and trust me, Julien does VERY good work! This is, first and foremost, a reference site, and anything missing that you are able to contribute will be of value to everyone here. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Man I could not have ever figured out those missing mint markings, it was just about the only part of info not immediately visible after comparing two pages. I suspected the reason for those red/pink lines was some missing info, but it got me stumped until reading this. Thanks.

A small suggestion, the icons could use title="" tags so you can hover over them for an explanation (see the profile/PM icons on the forum below the post for an example).

Again, the legend provides this information.
