How do I respond to negative feedback left by a seller?

After I agreed to purchase his LD, he told me to send cash through the mail (from the US to Germany). I wrote, expressing my regrets that I do not send cash through the mail and that the order needed to be canceled.

I then purchased the same LD from another seller who used PayPal. The PayPal logo on the front page of this web site leaves one to believe that LDDb prefers transactions through PayPal because PayPal offers buyer and seller protection.

Then the first seller contacted me and said he had a "friend" who had a PayPal account and I could pay him. Even if I still wanted the LD, I would not purchase from him knowing that he did not own the PayPal account he wanted me to forward the payment to. I had already told him that his cash-only demand effectively canceled the transaction between us. He wrote several more times, asking me to pay his "friend." I find it difficult to trust a seller who cannot establish his or her own PayPal account. Eventually, I deleted the order from my order page.

Now he has left me negative feedback for not bending to his demand that I pay for an item through a PayPal account that did not belong to him. LDDb sent me an email informing me of the negative feedback left. The notice gives me a link to leave my own feedback. However, there is no place at that link or in my account where I can respond to the seller's feedback.

How am I able to respond? Is there a way to appeal the negative feedback left for me?

Thanks,
EmmttGlnn2002

Sounds very fishy indeed, and I wonder how ppl on here want to sell LD's internationally without the use of PayPal.

I would not have send money tho his friends account either.
Maybe Julien can do something about the negative feedback you got...

What I would do:
Leave negative feedback to the seller and complain that he wont accept PayPal, and asks you to do fishy things.

Also if you feel like it, let us know who the seller is :p

EmmttGlnn2002 who is new to LDDB.com bought a few items from my store very recently.
He responded to my emails very promptly, paid for both items instantly and is totally reliable and honest buyer.

That other seller does sound very dodgy to me as well.

well, as i seller and buyer myself i have to bring up some issues with this situation.

1st as a person, not buyer or seller. i feel that you should have finished the deal with the seller.
either by paying OR by telling him that you don't want to deal with him for your reasons stated above, before buying the disc from someone else.

2nd you are always covered by paypal no matter, you pay someone and you wait for the item.
if you don't receive said item then you can open a case with paypal.

now, i would not have sent cash, but if it was something that i wanted, which you did, i would have paid with paypal and as a customer of paypal you are covered.

I, myself use a different email and paypal address for spam issues.
for me it's safer, i don't have to deal with issues with fake paypal emails etc.

for the seller in question that is not the case from what you have stated.

as for the seller, you have to understand that this is a person and he or she felt that it was a negitive experence, so if that's what they feel then they can leave negitive feedback to say they had a negitive experence with you as a buyer.

i'm not trying to take sides here, but you have to think about the situation.
you really didn't wait till this situation was closed, either with you paying or waiting to agree with the seller.

also if you felt that you had a security issue with this seller you should have contacted the administrator julien.

How much was the order? I ask because I wouldn't mail $500 to Germany but if it was like $50 or whatever (most of my LD orders are less than $50) then I'd just do it.

Also, yeah, if its his friend's Paypal or whatever, what difference does it make? As long as he sends the item its irrelevant. If he doesn't, its Paypal's problem.

How do I respond to negative feedback left by a seller?

Hello!

On this specific transaction, the seller asked me to cancel the transaction because no agreement could be reached and communication had stopped (IIRC).

In that case I leave a grace time to post neutral/negative/no feedback then I cancel the transaction (removing selling fees, putting the LD back in shop) and the buyer cannot put a feedback anymore (to avoid late retaliatory moves).

To his defense, his Shop Policy does explain that only transfers and cash payments are available (no Paypal): http://www.lddb.com/shops.php?owner=hamax

He did send me the whole mail exchange on June 16th and no reply came after June 5th from you on the friend's Paypal proposal. This is when the Seller asked me to void the transaction.

I understand a negative feedback is a little harsh and was probably driven by the lack of communication.

The policy on LDDb to remove feedbacks is based on mutual agreement -- meaning I will remove a feedback if both sides agree to it.

 Could you contact hamax (cc:me) with a courteous excuse and ask if he would agree to have the feedback removed?

Thanks,
Julien

I suppose that means that I'm stuck with my negative feedback as the buyer left it with out contacting me about the problem first and won't respond to emails about it. Even though I feel I didn't do anything wrong. The disc played fine when I tested it before shipping. :(
