How do I, as a seller, cancel an order at the buyer's request?
I recently sold two laserdiscs on LDDB to an international buyer. The two films I sold were very large CAV box sets. I live in the US and the buyer lives in France. Although my shop requests that international buyers email me for a quote first, the buyer went ahead and made the order anyway without first inquiring. The two box sets weigh over seven pounds when boxed in appropriate packaging. The cheapest shipping option available is USPS Priority International, but now the buyer is saying the cost of shipping is too high and wishes to cancel. I understand that international shipping prices are high, and most of the buyers I work with expect this kind of fee and understand that this is actually how much it costs to ship items over seas (

My question is, how do I cancel this order so that I do not have to pay the LDDB fees and how do I prevent retaliatory negative feedback from the grumpy buyer? Ebay has clear policies for this scenario and very specific ways of solving the issue. What do I do on LDDB? If the admin would like, I can forward the emails from the buyer as proof of their desire to cancel.
Cheers,
Bradley
