Another new piece of data that folks may find educational is wether a laserdisc has been released on DVD or Blue Ray and maybe a quick yes or no poll as to the superiority or inferiority in quality. If there are obvious differences a qualified comment as to the physical difference.
What does everyone think?

I'm all for it if its possible. There are lots of considerations though. There are many versions of the same movie. Running time, Aspect Ratio, Audio, source material, audio commentary, etc. that can be debated for a long time.

Agree, but a quick comment box that has been qualified should suffice.

For items which have IMDb numbers, a look at the corresponding IMDb listing should reveal this information. Anyway, surely this topic goes in "feature requests", not "general discussion".

I don't follow you on the IMDb numbers revealing this information but this would be imperfect at best, especially when the DVD or BlueRay material does not necessarily correspond to this release mastering. DVD didn't arrive until 1998 in full earnest.
Can I move this to feature requests, or would Julien have to?

Anyone can always add a comment on a LD to say that it "Not available on DVD" or specify what makes the DVD/BR less interesting as a collector's item.

Making this automatic on all titles is a little complicated because of the variety of countries releasing DVDs and BRs, under different publishing agreements: North America, Europe, Asia, etc. "Better" also depends on your LD PLayer, DVD/BR Player, your amp and video screen. It can be very subjective.

I understand everyone would love to find an already-prepared "LD not available on DVD list" but it's a very hard task in itself!

I was just cruising through DaDon's site and he has a "not on dvd" section. I was looking for it here, but from this comment I am guessing it's not yet available. Although I thought DD downloaded this site?
