Bringing this discussion over from the VHS thread:

That would be nice if this site expanded for VHS, since it seems to cater to all the defunct mediums.

Currently there is no way of efficiently cataloging VHS despite its collectability and dedicated fan base. We already do DVHS here so why not expand the database to encompass its more popular predecessor?

On a personal level, this would really help me avoid unwittingly picking up P&S releases and the like. I'm sure others would definitely appreciate it as well. :)

I agree firehorse

i think all the other formats are too much already and it should only stay LD, i was sort of shocked
when it started with CED, VHD, HD-DVD etc.

also VHS is going to be horrible to get all the different releases.
i remember there being so many different kung-fu releases on VHS that it would be next
to impossible to get all versions.

if someone wants to start a VHS database then they should, i don't see why not.
BUT it should not be part of this site.

Too big and so many pirate versions (being a recordable format) and a commercial presence in virtually every countries in the world that it's next to impossible to list them all.

I never believed DVD replaced LD, for me it replaced VHS on the same market segment (cheap, quick, can be copied, etc.).

LD was a niche market (even in Japan) although a quite successful one.
