I kind of think it would be a good idea to start a LaserDisc Database IRC chatroom. Don't you think?

May I suggest irc.rizon.net or irc.aniverse.com as the server.
I'd be there.

Don't run away again after 5 minutes, but stay idle.
Otherwise this will get rather complicated.

Can Julien integrate the PJIRC applet into the website?

It'd be nice to have everything all rolled-into-one.

Being the control-freak that I am, I would rather have the IRC server run on my server and have a few private/locals channels there.

With an online client, it there a way to force the nick to use the LDDb username?

To be honest, I'm not actually sure. The Daphne emulator website has a chat client in the server, and it doesn't seem to use the nick name you use on the Daphne forums.
