Hi

Some titles like Alien have 2 or more covers with sometimes just the obi changing color.

Without adding any new field in the dataset, would it be possible to display both versions available ?

Example with a dumb gif :

It would better to have 2 entries then. Most people are looking for a specific cover as a way to distinguish between releases. We should probably have 2 entries in that case.

Isn't the obi separate from the cover?

It is but most collectors want the obi included when they buy a LD. No obi, no deal :)

I must admit that I have purchased both the US and Japanese version of the same title just because of the different artwork

1) Fifth Element.
2) Armageddon.
3) Judge Dredd.
4) Thin Red Line.
5) Contact.

I find the Japanese versions with the OBI is real classy indeed.

This should be done; I have had and seen different versions of covers for criterion discs.

I know that taxi driver has different covers for the same CAV release, one in red and one of a different image.

Also there are early versions with silver covers on the first issues and black on the later issues but they are still known as first printings.

I have king kong with silver for the CAV and I know later “first printings” have the black background, along with invasion of the body snatchers.

Exactly! This also happened with Swing Time. When it was re-released with the black background, it still stated 1st pressing on the back cover adding to confusion in the database.

There is a title in my collection with very different covers, but the same Catalog Refrence Number:

"Cat People" (1982) [11014]

It was published by MCA VideoDisc Inc., and then by MCA/Universal Home Video.

The covers are quite different. In addition to sharing the same refrence number, they also share the exact same mint marks. The MCA VideoDisc version though has no ISBN or UPC on the jacket.

STAY AWESOME! :)

Ok, if we have to do it that way, then a "copy entry" function would be welcomed.

I've found a copy of this title with a corner obi, but the LDDB pic shows a side obi.
