Just noticed that I appeared to be the only person on the boards to own this laserdisc: Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake: Kirov Ballet (1991) [9031-73829-6]So I checked everything else that had a picture I'd uploaded myself, or no picture at all, on the assumption that anything that had a picture was by definition owned by someone else, and found some more that nobody else seems to own: Stravinsky: Pucinelle/Soldat: Rambert Dance Companie [9031-74249-6]New Year Concert 1992: Kleiber (1992) [070 152-1]Gluck: Orfeo Ed Euridice: Royal Opera House (1991) [PILC-1138]Christmas with Kiri Te Kanawa: Carols from Coventry Cathedral (1994) [4509-99001-6]It's not entirely surprising since they're all classical music, ballet, etc. so less popular than most movies, but it got me wondering what else is "rare" in this sense. I'd imagine that some will be "one of a kind items" such as the database disc mentioned in another thread, obscure prototype arcade games, etc., but there must be other mass-produced discs that for one reason or another have fallen through the cracks, to the extent that only one person here has them. So - anyone else got any "unique" discs?

I have a bunch of Hong Kong release that apparently no one else has flagged as being part of their collection according to their respective entries on the main site. Archiving HK LDs is kind of my pet project around here I guess. Also have stuff that's been stuck in the update and submission queue for months on end, dunno what happened there. Additionally I am surprised I am one of only six people that have a copy of Wonderwall (1968) [COLM-6200] which is shame because that's one of the most beautiful covers in my entire collection.

I never would have thought of this but since we're talking about it here we go. I am the only one with this version of Das Boot. Two of us have this one, The Dessert Fox. There are several others that are less than ten but I'll end it here for now.

I've several others where there are only one or two other users listed, but the unique ones seem more interesting somehow.

Ok so I tried the new feature and it shows 957 unique titles in my collection. Sounds impressive except I know it should be way higher than this. The reason is because the current algorithm doesn't appear to take into account the same person can have multiple copies of a disc which no one else has. I know if it took that into account the count for my collection would be a significantly higher. In other words checking if a disc in a given collection is the only single copy across all collections isn't enough. It needs to factor in some people have multiple copies of some discs in their collection which no one else has. Now that would be an interesting addition!

Back to my explanation above... that would create too much overhead, parsing/aggregating 420,000+ titles in collection at each request. But you are right, it searches for Qty = 1. The "unique" keyword was double-edged Julien

xtempo wrote: I have 6 LDs 1 VHD and 1 HD DVD that seem to be unique but I have a small collection at the moment. for large collections is it possible to group unique titles by format? I am using the "sort" parameter right now but it has limitations, if you try to sort by something else than title, it breaks down. I will try to create a new sub-search (similar to "format") for which all other sort parameters are working as expected. And try to answer laserdisc_fan request to not only confront Qty = 1 in the look up but also "My collection Qty = Total available Qty". It might be possible with an additional SQL composition. Julien

I think I got it right! I used to have 53 "unique" titles with Qty = 1. Now with "My Qty = Total Qty" I get 54 and indeed I have 2 copies of: Chick Corea: & Gary Burton: Crystal Break (1982) [SM048-3234]Could you try again? Julien

Julein Sounds likely - since they were all classical music it would probably only take one person deleting their account.
