Hi

I think that sellers should ratify a trade on LDDB before that trade becomes part of the history of LDDB statistics. It often happens that a member makes a frivolous purchase but doesn't complete the deal by paying.

In this case, I don't think that that deal should count towards the past sales statistics for the disc. It distorts our view on what discs are worth.

(Or for the fees due from the seller for that matter, although i have no problem with donating to LDDB and have on multiple occasions.)

Thoughts?

Well,

Trades (transactions) are not added to the past data automatically, they are only manually refreshed a few times a week.
This is to avoid someone making multiple (bogus) purchases just to inflate stats and artificially deplete supply for a short time -- until unpaid transactions are reversed.

And cancelled/reversed transactions will also be removed from the stats.

If I wait for voluntary feedbacks from sellers, I will probably get.. less than 10% feedbacks. Not point trying that.

I honestly don't understand what he's saying.

Every purchase incurs a fee for the seller to pay Julien so I would guess not many sellers want to pay this fee if the sale didn't go through for whatever reason.

I get occasional deadbeats putting in offers for titles that never pay and I always contact Julien to get these reversed and ideally get the buyer blocked!

This only triggers at $15, so many sellers with few transactions will just don't care.
