Post subject:  Adding HD-DVDs to the database - need a few selections added

Hi!

I'm in the process of adding HD-DVD titles and have run into a little problem. When selecting country of release there are a couple of options missing. I have some HD-DVDs that are pure Norwegian releases and some that are Nordic releases. Could the options "Norway" and "Nordic" be added to the drop-down list?

Doesn't seem like there are any options for selecting audio tracks and subtitles. Should this just be noted in the "misc information" window for now?

Have 31 titles awaiting to be added to the database. :)

Hello!

Yes they can be added. Out of curiosity, how "Nordic" differs from "Norway", "Finland" or "Sweden"? Did they make it a multi-country release including Denmark maybe?

The database was written for Laserdisc where you would not really have several soundtracks in different dolby/dts mixes and multiple subtitles available.
Haven't found the time to tweak it to allow for multiple selections yet...

Nordic releases are very common. Basically the cover is crammed full of censor/age restriction symbols and information (all countries have their own), as well as the short plot description in each language. Looks pretty ugly in general, but cost efficient I guess. Nordic would mean Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Sometimes Iceland too.

Written Danish is more or less identical to written Norwegian Bokmål. Does happen that they only have danish text because of the similarity. This applies to other products as well. Not uncommon to buy food with the cooking instructions in danish and other nordic languages.

Super, cheers Julien! I'll add the other titles during the day.

Probably should get my self a HD-DVD ROM so I could verify if it is single or dual-layer.
