| Post subject: | A not on DVD/BluRay icon or search item? |
This is a feature that may be tricky, but I'm sure everybody here would love to be able to look up which Laserdiscs are not yet on DVD or BluRay. I guess it would get even messier when it came to features or commentaries on DVD/Bluray. What are the thoughts from the users and admin on this topic? |

In clear cut cases like Song of the South, Daicon Film, or A Doonsburry special it would be easy, but given the nature of this site and movie nerds I'm sure we'd be debating aspect ratios of Texas Massacre movies and the three extra frames of Drunken Master II in the Philippines version, eventually just giving the icon to a bunch of really lame stuff no sane person cares about. |

That did cross my mind signofzeta. Perhaps an explanation/notes section could be added. For example: A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) NOT ON DVD/BLURAY - Uncut version not on DVD/BluRay. That way if you have the "insane" stuff on the list, you could at list see whether it's worth your time getting it or not. |

OR Have a sub-search field. Example: SONG OF THE SOUTH NOT ON DVD/BLURAY With no sub field. But then you could have.... A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984) NOT ON DVD/BLURAY > UNCUT OR STAR WARS (1977) NOT ON DVD/BLURAY > ALTERNATE VERSION The notes could then be added to the "Additional Information" section. That way you could filter out what you don't want in your search. |

Ultimate list of Laserdisc titles that are significant this thread tries to address that. It seems like it would be a pain to try and accurately maintain that info in the database. |
