There used to be a control to renew-all or cancel-all but it looks like it was removed by mistake when wishlist stopped expiring.

Let me take a look tonight.

So then these "wishlist" creators will never really buy from LDDB.
They have a wishlist that creates a false market, misleading sellers about potential customers.

I'd buy some of the things I have on my wishlist :)

Perhaps some don't buy, but I'm not sure how you would get around that, whether they're receiving email notifications or not. When I have a bit of spare cash to spoil myself with some new LD's I always browse the stores by "also in my wish list". But I don't necessarily need or want an email notification every time a single title on the list is added to someones inventory.

OK no problems with that but it shouldn't be posted under the title that X amount have it in their wishlist if those are not
wanting to receive emails when discs are available.

I have discs in my wishlist and won't pay some prices but they are common titles, so instead of giving a seller false hope that
they could sell a title wouldn't it be better to only post people who are actually in the market for buying rather than tire kicking

If I understand you right you're working from an assumption that is basically people not receiving emails are not buying, people who are receiving emails are buying?

The point I was trying to make was that there's no reason many people who are not receiving emails are still valid/active buyers who happen to browse their wishlist and buy at a time of their choosing rather than when they get a notification. On the flip-side how many people who are receiving emails might have them going to an old/invalid account, a junk mail folder, or just constantly ignore them.

I do get though that the email notifications can act as a little 'tap on the shoulder' to have a look and maybe buy something at that time. I have occasionally been inspired to have a bit of a browse due to a notification, and then temptation can take over...

Also I don't buy single discs, instead larger lots to reduce the postage per item. So I'll never buy a single disc because I've received a notification. It boils down to whether I can afford to purchase quite a few titles from my wishlist or not at that time.

Perhaps it could be possible to show a number in wishlists and one for wishlists+notification?

Nope.

I really want the "fake" numbers under wishlist to be removed or changed to only people who really want to buy even if the price is wrong.
Its making a false hope for people who try to sell discs.

I just listed a title, there are 8 under wishlist but no offers yet?????
My copy is the only one that's been offered for sale for the past 8 years here or ebay, so what good is it to see the actual numbers of
how many want it.

Well... yes and no.

Bids attached to wishlists are not binding anyway so a crazy high bid on any given LD is not a sure transaction if you list it at this price.

However, as mentioned above, wishlist items can either be:
  • active (and receive notifications, participate in the potential bids)
  • private in which case they don't.

If active, each notification offers a link to turn that specific disc notifications off.
I should add the option to remove ALL (similar to unsubscribe/opt-out) notifications at once.

Both Active and Private can be used to cross-check any given shop (or even against the complete inventory of all shops).
Both active and Private will show up in the accumulated wishlists counters (there's up to 24-hour lag as these are freshed only once a day).

I completely removed the "expiring wishlists" some time ago as it really didn't improve anything.
Now the wishlist simply disappears from the pool when a frozen account gets deleted.

I think we all know they are not "binding"
And i feel they should all be private and not listed publicly with any numbers posted for buyers and sellers to see this false number.

That seems reasonable, maybe I could just show how many emails notifications will be potentially triggered (as a max number since additional price/condition parameters might no trigger the notification if not matched) instead?

Agreed, they will be removed soon. Only the "best ask" will show up instead.
