I'd like to make a request to be able to search LD titles for/by mint marks. I guess what I'm after is a way to generate a list of titles from a specific manufacturer and then to be able to sort them by mint marks. I've done some advanced searches by using the relevant fields and leaving the title and several un-necessary fields empty but the results have not been anything close to what I'm after. I've tried to limit the search to 12" LDs with NTSC color picture from a specific manufacturer and even a range of a few years but I just get a bunch of seemingly random results. If there was a way to type in a partial mint mark into a field and get similar results or to simply get a search result of all titles from a specific plant that would do it. For example, if I adv. search for titles by DADC it yields too many results even for a span of say 1995-1999 but I can do 1 year at a time it seems. Another example would be to type in LDVS into a mint marks field and get result for all DADC titles with those mint marks. Type in -K and get Kurray titles or type in -85 and get all Fox LBX titles etc. Similarly, to be able to search LD titles by the user name of people who've left notes/comments on those titles would be great. I see the notes field is searchable but not the user who left the note. So if I add a note to a title and someone else want to see if I've left other notes on other titles they could just search my user name in that field. If this is all too much to implement I understand and I'm also not expecting miracles. Thanks for all the recent hard work on the update BTW! |

Is there a way that Pioneer Japan, Kuraray, Mitsubishi and WEA can be added to the Reverse Mint Marks database? And call me crazy, but I wonder many DiscoVision titles have reverse mint marks listed under Pioneer USA? I call it hilarious in hindsight that it may have been a wild guess that Pioneer would soon take things over from MCA. |

As explained above this is only useful where the master reference is not the catalog number. For the manufacturing sites you mention, they are using the catalog reference, not a serial number. You can simply use the Advanced Search and filter titles per "Pressing Factory". Julien |
