Don't think this is a bug per se, but when I tried to send a PM to a buyer this afternoon, it failed with this:



It did work this morning. There was nothing unusual in the message, all text. I originally had a link in there, but when I removed it, it made no difference. I got the same error just trying to "Save" it as a draft.

(I haven't tried it again, as I have no reason now to PM anyone!)

\xF0\x9F\x93\x80 refers to 3- or 4-bytes unicode characters (usually Emojis) that are not compatible with this version of phpBB3.

Probably a DVD Emoji => https://apps.timwhitlock.info/unicode/inspect/hex/1F4C0

Try to only send plain text and use the emojis on the left side of the edit box.

You nailed it! I had copied the text from an e-mail that has a DVD emoji in my sig. So, never mind!
