I tried to use the phrase "glad you're happy" in a Feedback comment, but got an SQL error. I found that I could avoid this by typing "glad you\'re happy", & the backslash does not appear in the feedback message as displayed.

I've noticed apostrophes, colons, semi colons etc cause problems with the search too.

This is presumably a wrong escape'ing of characters (on feedbacks) for quote/apostrophes. I moved the topic to "bug reports".

Do you have an example with semi-colons?

Sorry, when I look into it now it seems I was getting confused with another problem I've had when searching with colons; if a title includes a colon and I don't search for it with a colon then it won't return the result. for example searching for "Star Trek The Screen Voyages I to VI" won't return "Star Trek: The Screen Voyages I to VI"
Sorry, I should have double checked before adding to this thread, my only defence is that I posted before my morning coffee.

the only issue that i can think of is:
yor: the hunter from the future.

if you do a search for YOR
you get pages of stuff.

if you do a search for YOR:
then you get 10 things.
i know there were others in the past but i can't remember.

Fixed! Just made a test with the following feedback and it worked:

it's a test with "all sorts of things" inside.

If you know that the title will begin with Yor then you can use the * wildchar and make a search on Yor*:
