So, if you put in an advanced search for something that doesn't exist — say, TITLE="drachma", or FORMAT="LaserDisc"+CATEGORY="anime"+SOUNDRACK="Analog-CX+DTS", or anything like that — you always get the same result, as shown in the screenshot. This is a minor issue, but I thought you'd like to know, in case it exposes some weakness in the underlying code.

Hello!

The new "also list pending titles" might have done some good.

I don't see these spurious results anymore. Can you confirm?

also the "silent" search is sort of strange.
if i want to find silent films and i put that in the soundtrack i will not get all of them.

so how would i do a search to get all silent films? they have a soundtrack but no talking.
thanks,

Now Pending Submissions & Pending Updates searching are apparently broken. This is what I see when I click on one of the numbers on my Account page.

You can do an advance search for films made before 1928/29. That will get you most of them except for a few of the box sets. For the American box sets, ID****DS will give you all of the David Shepard releases and ID****KN will pull up all the Kino releases but I think they only have 2 silent boxes (Fairbanks and Langdon).

There still seems to be an issue with advanced search.

For example a while ago I did an advanced search with info contains for something like 'Donna Summer'.
It returned a number of different entries.
Now nothing is returned for the same search even though there are definitely entries that contain that text.

Just did the very same search and it works for me... : http://www.lddb.com/search.php?search=d ... sort=title

What do you get?

I believe the search you did is not the same.

This is what I did:
Select Search - Advanced Search
In field 'Info contains' enter: donna summer
Click Search

No match found
Query returned no result

It isn't specific to donna summer.
You can do a search for any word in that field and you get nothing back.
In the example given there are definitely entries that contain 'donna summer'
e.g.

Rock'n'roll Greatest Years: 79 (1979) [VALJ-3243]
Rock'n'roll Greatest Years: 78 (1978) [VALJ-3242]
both contains her name in the track listings

This was definitely working up until fairly recently as I use this facility a lot to cross reference artists etc. It is totally broken now though.

Good point, I'll look into that this week. Another "list pending titles" side effect.

Great - thanks!

I use that search loads. I think it is an overlooked feature.
