Post subject:  MICROSOFT is blocking my emails

Since last night, Microsoft (== Outlook.com) decided to blacklist my IP.

   Last IP   Blocked   Details
62.210.77.23   Yes   Blocked due to user complaints or other evidence of spamming

So far I can't send PM or wishlist notifications anymore to:

  • @hotmail.co.uk
  • @hotmail.com
  • @hotmail.fr
  • @hotmail.it
  • @live.ca
  • @live.com
  • @live.nl
  • @msn.com
  • @outlook.com

Case opened with Outlook.com to ask: why?

can someone pose as you and be sending it only MS addresses? or something similar. that or maybe they did a block on similar address.

it seems odd and stupid.

More like someone receiving wishlist notification emails and, instead of unsubscribing if not interested, just flagging them as spam.

Make a blocking removal request but:

Quote:
We have completed reviewing the IP(s) you submitted. The following table contains the results of our investigation.

Not qualified for mitigation
62.210.77.23
Our investigation has determined that the above IP(s) do not qualify for mitigation.

I have to escalate higher.

With an impeccable reputation for nearly 4 years on this IP I really have no clue what's wrong.

Surprisingly good quick turn-around from Outlook support desk (less then 24h each time to send updates):

Quote:
We will be looking into this issue along with the Escalations Team. We understand the urgency of this issue and will provide an update as soon as this is available. Rest assured that this ticket is being tracked and we will get back to you as soon as we have more information to offer.

Most ISPs don't even have a direct way to contact them when you get blocked.
Microsoft seems to have improved their customer support.

Now if iiNet Australia could update their blocking list... they have rejected all my emails since June.

Microsoft has been great about supporting Hotmail since they bought it. It’s a burner email service but it’s also a major part of the MS Office hegemony now so they have to take care of it.

Spoke too fast.

No news after 4 days even when asking for updates daily.

Several hundreds messages have bounced so far.
I resend manually the most important ones but I can't resend them all.

Maybe some hope!

Quote:
Recent activity coming from your IP (62.210.77.23) has been flagged by our system as suspicious, causing your IP to become blocked. I have conducted an investigation into the emails originating from your IP space and have implemented mitigation for your deliverability problem. This process may take 24 - 48 hours to replicate completely throughout our system.

Just to be safe, I finally enabled DMARC on all emails.

SPF and DKIM were already up and validated.

(update) Was a good idea to add DMARC to lddb.com. I am getting reports now of other IP addresses trying to send email pretending to be lddb.com. That might have confused Microsoft.
