First time playing this on a double sided player, reached the end of the programme on side one, the side changed and the programme began again which surprised me. Apparently the same 46 minute show is recorded on both sides instead of having a Kame side, although the label on the second side says "Program material has been recorded only on the other side of this videodisc".

I haven't encountered this before, although I haven't ever checked either. Is it particularly unusual? And/or worthy of a note on the database entry?

Sounds like one that slipped through.

Quite rare to get things like that on the LD format.

Cheers

Did you try flipping the disc to make sure you get side B on the other side?

Yep, either way up the special plays from beginning to end on the first side, and again on the second side. Nothing's missing, it's supposed to be a single sided title, but there's a repeat of the programme on what would ordinarily be the Kame side. I wonder if all copies are like this, or if some unlucky customer got a copy with two Kame sides!

Very possible.
I actually bought a box of discs a few years ago all were side A on both sides, I still have some left.
But they are either promo or sample discs as they were all in a brown LD shipping box.

I have another Image disk with the same content on both. I guess the factory was short on dead sides that month...

The Stranglers: The Video Collection 1977-1982 (1982) [PMI 90 1032 1]

This one plays the same on both sides too. My copy has rotted so I've got two rotted copies for the price of one!
