I’ve known some real collectards but never one who would lay his life down for shrink wrap. Impressive!

See, and you thought I was bad for bagging the sleeves of discs that go inside Japanese box sets.

At least I watch my discs.

You’re grandma with plastic on the couch. You’re the guy who won’t take the protective film off the phone even after it gets all destroyed and funky because he things it’s going to protect gorilla glass. It’s pretty bad.

But then there are people who don’t even watch the stuff which I agree is way worse. Infinitely worse, really.

Ah, has been sealed for as long as you have been alive, I see. My mistake. I thought you were defending your shrink wrap with your life.

That kind of thing is fun. I went back to 1975 with a new (but quite shelf worn) LP copy of Really Rosie a couple weeks ago. I'm not sure I've I've actually opened a sealed LP from my year of birth, 1973, or earlier though.

I don't think I've ever had a chance to buy anything that's as old as I am, NOS. The oldest item I've got still brand new in box is some off-brand lego sets with a copyright date of 1988, and I'm not even sure how accurate that is.

More on topic, I got another copy of Koyaanisqatsi, but my dumb a** decided to pick up another copy of the same pressing instead of just waiting for a copy of the first US pressing to come up for sale instead. Good news is that this one is in a lot better shape than the first one, although there's still some minor issues with it (the beginning of side 1 is a bit rough and I noticed some really quiet crackling on the right channel), this one is actually watchable. The bad news is that I can't say the same for the sleeve it came in.

Oh right, this discussion made me remember I still had a sealed disc on my shelf that I forgot about.

it's the Promo light clip! Rap 1 that I found for 5€ lost in vinyl discs. So I opened it to try and see.

I knew it wasn't gonna be good music, but it really is just a bunch of crap gangsta' rap 'n shieeet "music".
The only one that stands out a bit is the Shaquil o neal clip, also this one is not 4/3 but in 1.85:1.

Another noteworthy thing I found, is the EC disc sleeve that is pretty different from the others, this one feels more sturdy and is also easier to put back in the cardboard sleeve.
So finally, I now don't have any more sealed discs.

Just received another bunch of animes ;
-Perfect Blue: Special Collection Box (1997) [PILA-9002]

The lot was 60€ (40€ just for the Perfect Blue box)
They are all in great condition and complete (except Starship Girl vol.3, which is missing the little photo card inside).
In any case, I'm really glad to have them and can't wait to watch them (except Staship Girl as I did not found any subs for it yet...but I think I got an idea to counter making them myself).

Big package from Japan. And shipped completely free because of an epic 3 day promotion by the proxy service I use.

Is there even enough LD+G titles to justify having one ?

Ghost in the shell and memories are the only titles with none-english soundtrack and English ld-g. All others are already English audio. I have one of these and in my tests it actually had a toll on the picture quality so I removed it from my setup.

Yes but those also had CC so if your TV can support CC you get that as well, so no real need for the LD-G
Unless you are using a projector then you need some type of CC decoder which would be similar.
