No worries. Yeah really looking forward to seeing Gunbuster on LD. Haven't seen it since the early 2000s when I sold off most of my VHS tapes. I'm not a huge fan of the LD boxset art though, even though it's Mikimoto. I might collect the individual releases in the future and sell on the box. btw are you using Sub Station Alpha for overlay? I can only get it to recognise straight .ssa, not even .a ss. So I convert .srt to .ssa here: https://toolslick.com/conversion/subtitle/srt-to-ssa

gypsy wrote: I still don't have the unit in hand yet. But I will probably use that program assuming it works with most versions of windows. yeah I think it does Quote: I might be able to rip subs off my Gundam BDs if you can't find them anywhere else. Well that's a very generous offer as I know it would be quite a lot of workvfor you but let's work on finding existing subs somewhere for now, they must exist, I know fansubs existed of at least the full run of Zeta, but as has been stated here before some contents of the old internet seems to have faded away, including a lot of sites that used to compile .ssa files...

I guess I'm being more lazy than anything else. Just need to download these files and transfer with winzip for the rar files so I can figure that out then transfer to ssa and then even see if the unit I have will work. Haven't even got that far

Are you using .ssa and are your subs for Gunbuster displaying font information along with the text? When I convert to ssa they keep all that format data in the subs actually displayed. I'm still lookiing for a solution that doesn't involve me manually editing the whole script. Hey Reino!! C'mon get your genlock in action already!! You're lagging behind..

I'm still lookiing for a solution that doesn't involve me manually editing the whole script. Hey Reino!! C'mon get your genlock in action already!! You're lagging behind.. after the concrete yesterday and plumber today I may try tonight or tomorrow. Have Dirty Pair downloaded and ready just need to plug in and test it out if it works. Will keep all posted, was just searching on ebay if the 400 doesn't work to pickup another, we will need to start a thread or add to this one on which units work and don't work for genlock. Very excited to do this but a little bummed that these rar files are for crap for me and I can't open them. They have EVERYTHING I would want, even Kenya but I can't figure out this stupid rar file........ They even have all the GE999 so I wouldn't have to buy the series again. Hopefully the subs come through another way, fingers crossed EDIT: looking at my CD-400 I see that I am missing the composite and S-video in. So am I supposed to be using the in and out for the LD player on this unit and I bought the wrong unit or is there a way to use these VGA or RS232 to connect it? At least I have a remote for the future Well seems that I may have bought this without reading the in's and out's on the unit. Didn't really pay attention to that, couldn't figure out why Gypsy was saying this wouldn't work OK so I need to find another unit to get the genlock, anybody have any alternative units to look out for that are lower priced?

I'll keep an eye on them too. Have windows 8.1 and an old xp computer, haven't turned it on in a few years but was able to get the ssa to open on my laptop so I may just use this rather than deal with the old xp desk unit. Thanks for the pm, will keep searching, money is going into plumbing today rather than genlock hobby But I do need laundry and don't really need the genlock

gypsy wrote: Dreading how much shipping would be on a 50 LD box set. Oh yeah, my guess would be around 150 minimum, some of those sites will only ship express after a certain weight. There are some boxes on ebay for 100+ and from my past experience it would be cheaper for me to buy those than YJ.

Cheaper than just the first half, only listing with the second half up is 10x the price though shipping is "free" lol.
