For me it was definitely all about Minmay, first TV crush. Probably explains my many unsuccessful relationships with small and flakey Asian girls  I even went out with one who had the same actual birthday as Minmay, 10/10/1993

Holy s**t, amazing.

This review from Wiki

"Only the most dangerously sadistic mentalities will manage to sit voluntarily through more than ten minutes of Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS, a graphic, stomach-churning catalogue of Nazi medical atrocities that makes Texas Chainsaw Massacre look like a Sunday picnic ... Theatres catering to the lowest possible grade of audience could make a bundle of dirty money. Others would be wise to forget it."

I just finished watching The King of Staten Island. There are parts about it I really liked. But I don’t know that I will ever come to love the film, and I kind of hated the ending.

Bill Burr and Steve Buschemi were terrific. Hope Bill gets more acting work.

Finally got a decentt 5.1 speaker set up for the room with the laserdisc player.
Tested it out with CAV Twister,
Dang the Dolby Ac-3 on that is Brutal, the LFE good god was epic.

Hopefully the rest of my AC-3 discs are just as good :)

Watched the great Australian 'melt' splatter/gore/slime film Body Melt yesterday. A film stuffed full of all of your favourite 80's and 90's Neighbours stars!

Favourite moments include:

1. Harold Bishop, missing an ear, armed and on the rampage kicking arse!

2. Toby Mangle literally getting his head caved in after a stumble on a half pipe.

3. A nostalgic reminder that yer wan who played Melanie in Neighbours is in it.

4. The absolutely nauseating bush family. Made my toes curl, especially the love bite and the grandma addicted to pornography!

5. The excellent make up work. Really rotten stuff that made me scrunch my face up for pretty much the entire film. The scene in the doctors surgery in particular was really well done.

The blu ray from Umbrella (in Oz), 88 Films(UK) and Vinegar Syndrome (in USA) is wonderful. Especially the behind the scenes stuff. The soundtrack is a mix of superb 1990's rave and just pure mania.

Umbrella have done a great job here reviving a top quality Australian film. The reversible sleeve art on the Australian disc is excellent too. Bravo!

Haha, I had a sneaky peak at your collection. The AC3 is a house shaker and the picture is really good too. I know a lot of people dont like the film but I think it holds up in an entertaining 90's action movie kind of way. Enjoy!

Good stuff definitely will then
Let me know if anything else in my humble collection has particularly good AC3

You've got some decent AC3 discs. Notable standouts if you want to shake your house are The Lost world, Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and Mortal Kombat. I love the Space Jam AC3 track because the film has a great soundtrack. Same goes for the Lion King AC3 track.

If you want a laugh, stick on the pod race scene from Phantom Menace. Crank up the sub to MAX! If your house hasnt been demolished to a pile of rubble from the extreme LFE than please report back and tell us what you think!

Watched Greyhound tonight.

80 minutes (10 of the 90 minutes are the end credits) of terminal boredom.

So-so acting of a screenplay that is devoid of any character development and packed so full of naval speak that you'll need a Navy dictionary in your hands at all times to decipher the dialogue.

Completely inacessible dialogue for non-marine folks and shoddy CGI with only fleeting moments of interest sprinkled through it's short runtime. Also, why does every appearance of a submarine need to be accompanied by whale sounds? Argh!

I'd rather go Go Karting with a hangover and vomit in to my helmet while driving than watch this muck again. What a waste of a potential Summer blockbuster.

Avoid.

1.5/5

Footnote: This is another one of those streaming service films ruined by absolute garbage audio. Presented with a DD+ 5.1 track when it should be 7.1. Also the centre is so garbled with everything going on and no decent vocal separation that I had to enable Clear Voice just to make out the crappy dialog. Sick of these streaming services spitting out such trash audio. The 4K HDR was a waste of time too when the whole film looked like it was rendered on a Voodoo 2 graphics card.

Feeling frosty....
Just Viewed BRAVEHEART

Did not recall how epic that film is.
Over the top well done combat scenes.
Spatters on camera lenses never fail to get the juices flowing.

Hoping my opinion does not trigger any sensitive members......
Hmmmm, I lied, I do not really care .......

I've tried yet again with a genlock to watch anime with subs, but no luck DOA.

So now I'm watching Star Trek TNG on the Pluto channel, for me its not as good as TOA but enjoyable.

May watch the Killer later tonight, been thinking about that one from someone posting, possibly forper?

Braveheart was way too long for its own good and had a host of issues. That said it's not the worst movie, far from it. I think I gave it around a 7/10 after watching it. Good but not the 9/10 type score I sometimes see for it.

Tedd D: Never heard of Body Melt. I've never watched a full episode of Neighbors in my life either. I think Neighbors just made its money from UK export tho aired daily here. My friends were into Bad Taste and other early Peter Jackson films, you think Body Melt woulda come up on their radar? But no..

You may like Let the Blood Run Free? I never liked it, bunch of Melbourne try hards I think I thought then https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_the_Blood_Run_Free

Rein-0 Hope you watched The Killer again. I think it's CYF's best.

Body Melt very much flew under the radar, which is a shame because it is a superb effort by Philip Brophy. He never made anything after that though, one and done. I saw something not so long ago with Peter Jackson discussing his back catalogue while working on They Shall Not Grow Old. He mentioned that Braindead and Bad Taste would eventually be revisited when he had the time to do them real justice (wise move, those films are beloved by many). If your friends enjoy Kiwi flicks, I highly recommend a TV show from the early 2000's called Back Of The Y. I think I bought the compilation DVD many years ago too, it's very funny madcap stuff. I think I've heard of Let The Blood Run Free. If it pops up on my radar I'll give it a try.

Neighbours was a national treasure in the UK/Ireland in the 80's and 90's. Screened at 1pm and 5pm, if you were home for lunch from school then yeah you'd have no shame watching it twice a day.

Neighbours, The Sullivans, The Young Doctors (only the 70's and 80's episodes are worth watching), Shortland Street, Home and Away, Sons and Daughters, The Flying Doctors, Pugwall, Pugwalls Summer, Blue Heelers, Heartbreak High, Round The Twist, E Street and more flooded our televisions back then. We watched them all (except The Sullivans, nobody except people who were nearly dead liked that).

Personally I never got in to Prisoner. It did nothing for me. The rest were all very important binge television staples!

Those were my "friends" in high school. Last time I saw em a decade ago they told me I was creepy, gave me heaps of s**t like they used to do (brought back all those bad memories of high school) and told me I was scaring my best friend's new girlfriend, even though I didn't even talk to her. So they're not my friends anymore, if they ever were.

I don't like Jackson's movies. I saw Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles coz my "best friend" was into it. Never got it or loved it though. I tried to show him my prized Animeigo tape of Urusei Yatsura Only You, an absolute masterpiece (Yes, Osshii wasn't always a pretentious idiot) and he mocked it as boring. Philistine!

We used to read my Punisher War Journals, flick through his p0rn0 mags and role play endless expendable characters in the Vietnam War using Palladium's Recon rules (the worst f***ing rules ever written) tho so I guess my friendship with Michael wasn't a total loss..

Ted, all those shows sucked so hard. The only Australian soap I ever got into was A Country Practice. Cookie and Esmay. They were on after Tom Baker when I was a kid and I was a fan. Australian comedy? it's all about D-Generation, although a lot of working class Melbourne people wan't them dead coz they were rich Melbourne Uni brats mocking working class Aussies often. To be fair, over the years they've mocked everyone but the Castle is still a hard watch coz my Uncles, Aunties and Cousins were basically those people.
