Hi everyone, I realise this is a long shot but one of my players has recently stopped working. It is a Pioneer CLD D 515 PAL/NTSC player, the disc (Die Hard) was failing to play an error code came up on the display H1 I have since discovered this translates as the disc not reaching a sufficient spin rate. As the player was attempting to load I pressed stop, there was a loud click which sounded like the disc had dropped and was spinning on the disc tray. I opened the tray and sure enough there were circular grooves/scratches on the disc. Does this sound familiar to anyone ? Thanks for any help
Sounds like you need to open this up to see what the issue it so others can help more.
If I had to guess I would say the pad was slipping but now it sounds like the clamper is broken. But then again these are all shots in the dark until you open it up.
take the bonnet off and check the spindle motor. there is a black three legged plastic on top of the motor to center the disc. this holds down a spring... if one leg breaks....
