Had a little peek at the first film (which coincidentally is the greatest and best film, and trilogy, of all-time and I will not entertain anyone's opinion who thinks otherwise! ). It looks like a fantastic job has been done on it. Best part? The HDR meta just adds so much more to the film but the fact the subtle grain is there too is so pleasing. I thought it may be DNR'ed to death but it looks wonderful. One thing though, does anyone know what is up with the AR on this release? It looks........odd. I only watched a little bit though just to test it out. I then watched Double Dragon. Time to throw your MUSE discs in the bin folks and upgrade!

I'm not qualified to answer on a technical front but just from having watched pretty much every release since the early VHS editions this one just doesn't look 'right'. It's early days at the minute I guess. Maybe a review or post might mention something. Or maybe I'm being paranoid. Or maybe my telly is having trouble with it? Admittedly these were hooky untouched ISO's as I can't wait for my discs to arrive! Maybe playing them in the UB820 may be different? When BTTF trilogy first appeared on DVD it was released in Australia. I pre ordered that set way back and after release customers could send their discs back as they screwed up the AR on BTTF 2, and I think BTTF 3. I never sent mine back, too much hassle. Happened with the Italian 4K set of Dawn Of The Dead too. I bought mine used but with the replacement disc already present. Which is good as the company don't seem to be replying to emails about it any more.

I could say the same for all the copies of BTTF I have already, though I have never owned the LD's of it. Always considered it but it's not high on my list. One day!

We may well be sending them back. Just had a look over at blu ray.com forums and folks are reporting issues with disc freezing possibly due to manufacturing defects. Seems to be a BTTF curse that these releases always get screwed up somehow.

Received the box set yesterday. Gave each disc a quick spin there and they all look tremendous! No question that this is as good as it gets. With the Vertex 2 I can now dynamically convert the LLDV metadata to HDR10+ and get all of that juicy DV salaciousness! The AR still doesn't sit right with me but i don't see any complaints elsewhere now the discs have been out a while. The sound is brilliant too. I have to settle for DDTHD over Atmos but it's still superb. Don't hesitate to get the box set. Best trilogy ever made. Best films ever made. Do it.
