Says on the official Sony site that the Blu will be from the original 35mm negative. It's out in June.

Only downsides I can.see are a) probably JPN subs only and b) going by the average price of a Blu Ray disc in Japan, it's probably going to cost about 6.2 jillion Dollars.

It’ll be less than $100 probably. It’s only an hour long OVA.

Sony still handles it, that’s good. They probably won’t have to mess up the music.

At least Sony are handling it. If it was left to Funimation we'd end up with a 4K HDR disc release that when you pop it in your player turns out to be an SDR 240p Potatovision™ edition with 28.8kbps Realplayer audio and burned in subtitles in both Swahili and TubeTube languages.

Oh and it'll be interlaced as well.

It's been an INSANE year for things I thought would never happen with anime.

Wonder if its due to covid.

Being shut down for a year with most of these people getting no money and now they decide they have to cash in.

Was watching Sunday morning news about Rick Steves today, he still has his people on payroll for the past year, not all can or will do that.

Reminds me of those people who always say I'll never sell, but they can't live forever.
Bought a painting 2-3 months ago, was from a state fair/showing, has the original tag on the back saying not for sale, well I guess they died and
the kids sold it.

Now we need an official release of Midori........ or do we?

Specifics have been revealed. The price is an ota crushing ¥16,500. It comes in an LP (LD) sized box with also large book, OST, T shirt (JXL) and maybe a frame of film, presumably from the new interpositive like Macross DYRL was.

Somewhat on the fence...would need a Japanese address anyway since it’s from the Sony shop only. A ¥8,000 max general release reprint is likely to follow...if not an American version.

Yeah I won't buy that. I really don't need the random junk that comes with it. I would definitely buy a standard release at 8k yen though.

Well, I just bought the collection that was posted on here with T-oy in it anyway. Cool thing to have even if there is a blu-ray now.

If new BRs make old LDs more available then…I can’t wait for this to happen with Dragon’s Heaven.

Yes but this won't, the guy was in Japan and is selling the discs and his parents in the USA are shipping them.
That's why they were unbelievably cheap and a fluke situation.

Yeah, I talked to his mom on the phone. She shipped them out the other day and emailed me the tracking numbers. She said she found some more discs not listed in the collection and included them.

Looking forward to getting all this. So many cool LDs here.
