Does anyone know which Laserdisc release is best? I'm going to get the new Kino Lorber 4K scan from the original negatives but if the sound is poo then I'd like to get the Laserdisc as backup to mux the audio over. Are any of the Laserdisc releases any use? For anyone who hasn't seen Jazz On A Summer's Day, you are truly missing out. When you look back at the lineup it's literally the absolute creme de la menthe of some of the greatest musicians and singers to ever pick up an instrument or microphone. Legendary stuff. It's odd to think as well that one of the star performances of the whole show was Anita O'Day singing Sweet Georgia Brown and Tea For Two while off her nut of heroin (which she later admitted in an interview that she was off her face for the whole concert). You'd think if she was chasing the dragon minutes before going on stage that the last thing she'd want to do is get up on stage and sing some wonderful songs so effortlessly. Anyway, it's a deadly film/concert/documentary. Give it a look if you get a chance.

Nice. Makes me want to bust out my lone Coltrane LD and smoke cigarettes. And get more Jazz LDs.. Damn people were sharp in the early '60s

Hmm, by the way, the video is kind of like you can watch on YouTube for a modest price. I just saw this on Google.
