laserking wrote: Hi signofzeta, Thanks, I suppose I have my moments from time to time. In case you didn't know, I can be pretty passionate about this format. If you don't believe me, just take a look at my collection listing and About Me page To answer your previous question, no, I don't have Light of Day, believe it or not . So far, I have never encountered a Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, or Chinese release of this title. I have no idea if it was released anywhere in that part of the world, but if it was, I have yet to see it. You can believe that if a copy of such a release ever surfaces, I will try my best to acquire it. I have always thought that I would like to have this title in my collection. I have had numerous opportunities to get a copy of the U.S. release that you have over the years, but I just haven't jumped on it. There always seems to be something else that I want more, and it's not the type of piece that I'm willing to give serious money for. Someday, when I see it for a cheap price, and I have nothing more interesting that I'm looking at, I will get it. Best Regards, David Hi Again signofzeta, I think that have seen Light of Day sell for a fairly high price in the past from time to time. I can't recall exactly how much. I am absolutely sure that I have seen a number of people list it for sale who wanted a lot for it. Whether any of them got or not, I have no idea. Perhaps they did from some rabid fan of Joan Jett or Michael J. Fox. It's hard to say, as I didn't care about it enough to go back later and research if one of them sold and for how much. It's just a piece that I wouldn't mind having in my collection, but not for crazy money though. I saw the movie years ago on cable when it was relatively new, and don't recall it being like you said "anything special". To be perfectly honest, I don't remember much about it at all, after all these many years. David Bringing up this thread via a post Julien made. Is Light Of Day a rare one? I have it in my collection, I bought it from Japan. I got the 12" soundtrack vinyl at the same time. Massive MJF fan yet I haven't seen his more obscure work such as Light of Day, Life With Mikey etc so I buy them when I see them. I will have to dig my copy outtl to check but I think my LD has the obi, hype sticker etc too. As for unique LD's, I have a few in my collection. Stuff nobody would likely care about, but I care, which is what matters most. EDIT I see the Japan LD is the only widescreen version. I don't think this is on DVD, or if it is it was altered? If memory serves right it may be a music rights issue?

I was much more into the pop gals of the time Suzuki Ami, Tomomi Kahala, Amuro Namie (of course!)..Guys? I preferred Spitz and Saru Gan Seki. My Japanese housemate had this Tom Cat CD that he had since he was 12. He laughed at it then like he was a foolish kid but that s**t was awesome. I dubbed it onto MD along with a hundred Zard singles that my Vietnamese housemate had. Zard sucked tho. Tom Cat was the truth. I'm 43 but I'm thinking about getting a '91 Civic with in car MD and reliving my MD collection in the way I wanted to when I was even poorer than I am now.

Just got around to updating my collection, looks like I have a bunch of titles no one else here has listed, but not much I'd really recommend, since it's mostly JP versions of US discs, some seiyuu/anisong stuff, and some so-so anime. Wild 7 (at least the 1st episode) is pretty good if you like violent 90's OVAs. Hikaruon and Good Morning Althea aren't bad but aren't worth the price the go for nowadays. The actual on screen listing says COLLECTION LISTING - 1013 Collection. That's weird, "unique" is working normally for me as well. Oh it's the EXPORT that has the full list, you should be a little clearer! That might very well be a bug yes Julien

I've got one unique entry: a baseball anime box set (kudos to gypsy for finding it on Mandarake and sharing the link here). Just filled out most of its details yesterday, and sent cover photos to the review queue a few minutes ago. Dokaben: Exciting Games at Summer Koshien (1976) [COLC-3176~82]Fun show, lots of spirit, though realism in the baseball is quite out the window. This is a show in which games are won with hard work, team play, and physically dubious bulls**t. And it teaches kids valuable lessons, like how they should play through concussions instead of going to the hospital right away. (I haven't watched much modern sports anime, but I hope writers have gotten more responsible about how they depict head injuries...) One thing I was wondering about while editing the page though is the English title. (Japanese box title is ドカベン ~熱戦!夏の甲子園編~, "Dokaben: Nessen! Natsu no Koshien Hen") There's never been an official release in English, and the only place a google search turns up for "Exciting Games at Summer Koshien" is LDDB. My instinct is to use a more literal translation when there's no official English title to document, which would be something like "Dokaben: Fierce Contest! Summer Koshien (Edition/Collection/Compilation/something)". I left it as is (besides fixing the spelling and capitalization) because I'm still a novice at Japanese and there seems to be plenty of potential ways to translate 熱戦 in particular that I'm not skilled enough to judge, but what do y'all think?
