The first Tenchi Muyo movie was OK. The super special AC3 CAV LD is a must have for anyone who likes LD and anime, IMO, since it has just about every fancy feature you could want from an LD including CCs and multi-audio. It only lacks Squeeze.

That seems like a pretty sight (just as much Cliff Hanger (1983 Laserdisc game) was).

Hey! I like that game!!! It was my introduction to Lupin III and I've been a fan ever since!

And the skit was fun. My friend Krysten is a huge fan of Tenchi Muyo and of Ryoko in particular so she wanted to make a Ryoko costume and do a dorky skit. No one else would play Tenchi for her though. So I took one for the team. Can't really complain about it. Dated one of the girls I met through the skit for a while! Here's some pics of us dorks . . .

I dunno, I liked the 2nd OAV series as much as the first. Never cared much for the 1st TV series after getting a few of US LD releases of those. And I saw some of Shin Tenchi Muyo on TV in Japan. Didn't care much for it at all (though the ending theme for that series was interesting to bring up when I met Chisa Yokoyama at a con some years ago--she had a hard time singing that one.)

The 3-episode "Time Travel & Space Adventures" segment from the first TV series is pretty good. It's been suggested to me, & seems reasonable, that Shin Tenchi would actually have been a pretty good show, if the series & character names had been changed to something else. As Tenchi Muyo it's dreadful, but on its own merits it might be pretty good.

Possibly. I didn't watch enough of it to say one way or the other.

Of course, I was watching it raw on Japanese TV at the time with only a light grasp of the Japanese language, and then catching a few episodes here and there. So my perception of said series was skewed to say the least!
