A few dozens, must list them all sometimes.

Well they sound good on anything because the transport just passes the signal to the amp. Unless your transport is so bad it produces several thousand read errors a minute (it would have to be failing or something because no transport is that bad) you're not going to hear a difference between any player. Its all in the receiver.

I only have one, and its a CD-R. Its "The Peter Saville Show", some music New Order did for one of Saville's gallery shows. I think its 4.0. The experience is very nice.

"Gaucho" by Steely Dan. I bought it pretty cheap, mostly to exercise the dts decoder function of my receiver. It's good.

There are more mainstream albums on DTS CD than SACDs which are mainly classical, new age or jazz with few pop albums here and there. With that said, I to be honest prefer DSD stereo on SACDs. Most multichannel mixes are poorer than 2ch mix of the same album. I do not own any DTS CDs but If they are similar to DSD multichannel I don't think I would enjoy them as much as a good mastered CD.

If one had 5 identical full range speakers placed correctly then multichannel music might sound pleasing. I have great front stage with high end gear (3 SACD players each for different music) but poor rear speakers(comparing to fronts) also optimally placed for home theater. Rear speakers don't blend well and most cases distract from the great audio from the front speakers. I think this is due %60 from placement and %40 for using mediocre quality of the speakers(which are fine for HT use)

Substance, I understand what you are saying, but, I have the Mavericks "Trampoline" in both DTS and regular CD. Personally, I think the DTS version blows away the regular version no matter what way you configure your settings.

I have Brian Wilson's "Imagination" DTS CD. One song has an extended bridge, a few others have extra vocal bits here and there.

They sound even better on a DVD-Audio/SACD player with the player doing the decoding!

Ten Summoner's Tales DTS kicks a** on my Elite DV-45A through the 6-channel outputs to my receiver!

What receiver are you using? Do you find the six channel outputs better than the coax/optical digital out?

Pioneer Elite VSX-27TX

Yes, while the VSX-27TX has a very good Burr-Brown DAC in it, the DAC in the DV-45A just does a noticeably better job. It also does a better job with regular CDs too. I am really floored at the performance of SACD players!

dts 5.1, demo disc is dynamic with lows extended down to 10Hz.

dts 5.1, 1999 is cool, fab music demo "Mars Bringer of War" that has some drop down lows.

TITANIC dts in discrete 5.1 is brilliant.

I used to have quite a few dts CDs, including a copy of the original quad mix of DSOTM. Never played them in an LD player; but I had 5.1 on my PC as well as a DVD player and DTS receiver that handled them just fine.

Supposedly, you could do the same trick of padding dts in to a redbook stream with AC3; but I never actually bothered.

I have one. I can't remember the name at the minute, I have it in storage. It's a DVDA disc and has surround sound on it?

Then it's a DVD Audio, not a dts CD.

For a long time I though that the upgrade from CD jewel case to DVD Audio typical Super Jewel Box was just form factor.

But while cataloging them all I also ripped the WAVs via EAC and tried to play them on a USB external drive on my OPPO UDP-205.

1/ The WAVs from the jewel cases first releases just play static noise.
2/ The WAVs from the super jewel box re-releases play normally, even without the dts logo showing on on the OPPO display.

They must have remastered the ISOs by adding some extra bits to tell that the WAV files really are dts and should be played accordingly.

Now... I'll be looking for a tool to process the old WAV files and make them playable as well!
