I never thought this would actually happen, but it has happened! I finally have EVERY US "Urusei Yatsura" LD release known to exist (And 1 bonus Japanese release)! The TV (Seasons 1-10) box-set is just gorgeous. :lol: The only problems I have with the TV box-set is the cheap brittle plastic and the REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY sh**ty plastic disc holders that may as well be covered in glue (I replaced all of them with paper sleeves.) I got an amazing deal on the TV box-set, too (I paid $50 for the UY TV Box-set, 10 Sega Genesis Games, 4 Sega Master System Games, 3 SEGA CD Games, 2 NES Games, an R4 Revolution for the Nintendo DS, and about 6 other Laserdiscs!) :)

I cannot understand why Animeigo made such a stupid package, possibly the worst LD package in the history of LD. Its not like LD packaging hadn't been perfected long before this set was made.

Just imagine a world where every LD ever released came in the same plastic holders as the UY TV box-set.

Just two options in such a world...
1) DVD
2) Seppuku
Your choice!

Yeah... and I ripped one of the plastic holders while trying to get an LD out of them. :(
They feel like the discs are glued to them ;_;

Have you not replaced them, yet? If so, you really should (even if they are elephant condoms).

Also, this part of the binder actually got broken off (which was kind of good because if it was still there, I may not have been able to put the paper sleeves in the box at all)... This is a quality product...

Just wondering, what does the T-Shirt look like (My set is missing the T-Shirt.)? Also, was this something you could only order on the phone (There is no bar-code on the back of the box.)?

Oh, interesting. Honestly, I'm not that big of a fan of the design (Mainly the purple and black coloring).

This series was mail order only. No retail. Only produced when enough people signed up to buy it.

The binder is really awful. I put the discs from my copy into individual blank white sleeves, with a sticker I made on each spine showing 1-10 in binary notation of orange & black stripes. One of these days I plan to put a sticker on each one with episode lists & summaries (from the liner notes) plus artwork.

I agree. My favorite part about the packaging honestly has to be the huge size. :P

My next three goals are probably to get some of the Disney Box-sets (Mainly Alice in Wonderland), the Japanese UY OVA releases, and to get the Akira: Special Collection (1988) [PILA-1086].

The Akira set is great! Amazing quality with a bunch of extras. Also has the streamline dub, which was pretty good in my opinion.

The only downside is the number of side changes. Not a bad trade-off, though. :D

Personally, I hate the Streamline dub. :P I prefer to watch Akira in Japanese, for sure. It's too bad that the Akira: Special Collection has no CC's. I mainly want it for the CAV and the bonus features. What are the bonus features on it like? Thanks. Also, sorry for of bringing up a somewhat abandoned topic.
