a true Otaku Geek's room!! looks like something i would've dreamed of having in the late 90's/early 00's. hell, i wouldn't mind the least bit having that life-size Sakura Kinomoto and the LD-X1 today!!

God evening nissling, To be honest before moving into my first home of which I now live my room was have the size of the above room. How about the media room of Rumiko Takahashi herself back in the 80's? Here's an interesting article/manga on Takahashi's setup back in the day. Having a CRT projector like that way back then showed the kind of $$$ UY etc. brought in (note that even someone as rich as her still had a cramped space, and the LDs of her creation she's holding): The early 80's LD-1000 gas tube LD player and a neat diagram of the original "Rumic Theater":

I think the problem with those kinds of rooms is that the three feet thick blanket of old Animage mags, empty UFO capsules, and discarded spankerchiefs really messes with the sound quality.
Some of these pics are pretty gross. Demo stickers still on some of the electronics, speakers pointing at each other, impossible viewing angles, wood paneling...nasty.
Something every otaku needs to understand: you can't buy taste and soap is cheap.

Something every otaku needs to understand: you can't buy taste and soap is cheap. My thoughts are what's the point of having the stuff if you can't enjoy it comfortably. Also spankerchiefs gave me a good laugh. My word of the day
