Post subject: Last HD DVD you watched? (rotten discs) Posted: 26 Jan 2015, 05:01 |

Just got through watching BLADERUNNER with my 13 year old son...wow..watching the Final Cut in my opinion was so much better than the theater version..but my son probably would have benefitted with Harrison Ford's commentary through the movie--I had to explain a bit here and there.
Watching Attack of the Clones on DVD later, I was kind of amazed at the visual similarities of the cities--the billboards--lights--even the speeders and traffic.
I hope Bladerunner II comes out in my lifetime!

I just watched Pan's Labyrinth , and was wondering if anyone else in LDDB land was enjoying a fine HD DVD also. A fantastic movie indeed.

Enjoy it , looks fine for a movie that age Own The French boxset Pan's Labyrinth. Stunning packaging and THX certified. Do hate the French subtitles No option available to get rid of them

Watching multiple THINGS. THE THING HD-DVD I preferred the darker tone on the HD-DVD the bluray a bit boasted up on brightness. But least I have a few THINGS to play rather than be stuck with one THING. THE THING HD-DVD THE THING bluray

dumbchemist, I never thought about a THING marathon before? now you mention it. I was relaxed around the home and just played it '82 version twice. Might do marathon later in the year. I totally forgot to put the The Thing From Another World, 2-disc in the picture. I guess I had another THINGS on my mind.

Gave Superman Returns a watch just yesterday. Great picture and sound. Finally got me a working Ep-35 that plays trough any hddvd. Had to struggle trough 3 players to finally get a good one. Purchased it with 5 discs about three months ago in mint condition. I love seeing the DD+ logo on the receiver. switched to True hd a few times. both great sounding tracks. Altough many people dislike this movie I can enjoy it. They made a pretty good affort creating the whole "feel" of the "old" C.Reeve movies. I'm not saying it is the best but it sure is enjoyable popcorn entertainment. Like Lex Luther alot Spacey has the face for that part as did G. Hackman back then. I did miss Miss Teschmacher Got me the Man of Steel on Blu Ray jikes horrible thing. Last month I saw a trailer in the theatre for Batman vs Superman... who cooks up these things? They should forbid those kind of movies IMHO I like the main opening theme of Superman returns ... Reminds of the many many times I watched the C. Reeve movies when I was a little boy nostalgia I guess... My father made a copy of the rental version on tape back in the day... Yes, he bought two mono Panasonic vcr's back then I had a very cool modern Daddy a loud sigh would follow when he saw me dig out the tape every day again I'll never forget his face when I got the Superman LD. "Inevitable I guess? " he told me

ace2184 wrote: Congrats on the new player kris. I'm with you on Superman Returns. I don't think it's a all that bad of a movie, entertaining anyway. Another I wanted to see but never have, is Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut. I've read that it makes the whole movie considerably better. Own the Superman II director's cut. I was really surprised to see the added scenes after years of chilhood watching that movie. it is a great effort to make the movie more "complete" Get it is my advice
