Hi Julien

LDDB Shops are still great. But my last 2 buyers were new to LDDB and didn't realized that shipping from Switzerland to anywhere in the world costs more than a few bucks. Therefore the cancellation of the orders and the waste of time for everyone.
That's not the first time, and it won't be the last one.

In order to avoid such misunderstandings, I think you need to put a bigger warning about shipping costs in the check out process, or even better add a mandatory step to force the buyer to look at the shop policy. In my policy are all the possible shipping costs listed. Anyone that can read should be able to figure out that shipping won't be cheap.

Well, wadayathink ?

This may be a good idea. On the other hand, some sellers have not bothered to publish a policy.

I'd say a good general rule of thumb is to order from your own country whenever possible, and if you can't figure out what the shipping is first.

... then the country of the shop should also be displayed as a mandatory step before checkout.
Maybe with a world map pointing buyer's location and shop's location.
But I doubt it will help.

Even so, this step would then display a blank "policy".
But in most cases, you can read the shipping rules of this shop.

Shipping worlwide is so easy with online postage calculaters.
What people really need are consistent packaging techniques and a SCALE ! ! !
Serious sellers have these in place WITH a policies page to be sure.....
Inexperienced dealers have only to ask here at the FORUM..........
Sorry for your troubles man.....
Totally avoidable if people took their hobby a bit more seriously......

Good idea about the worldwide map display.....

Cheers mates

Another one...
Should I close my shop ?

Hi, sorry I didn't read the shipping and I didn't notice that you only ship Priority.
My fault - I should have read the shop policy.

Do you mind cancelling the order?

Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks a lot

I'd actually suggest something along the lines of including in the basket "items" for Shipping Costs (one per shop bought from), with "UNKNOWN - SEE POLICY" listed for the price in bold font, the text being a link to the policy in question. Then rename the "Total" field to something like "Total without shipping".
