I do wonder whether some discs went through more than one pressing, & only the first pressing had the "custom" dead side, while later ones were stuck with a "generic" type. Yup, the Shin Cutey Honey is in my unwatched pile. But maybe I can snatch a picture of it and update the LDDB entry one day. Yes it is quite possible that the Pit-Art in some cases was limited to the "first pressing" run - probably a thousand copies or so?! moon-child-1982 wrote: sorry for my bad understanding ... A Laserdisc with a picture on the dead side, like a hologram or colored pvc ? Nein, eine "leere Seite" wo bei der Produktion gesetzte Pits ein Bild ergeben.

Managed to snatch a picture of the pit-art on [LSTD01173] - turned out not perfect, meh. Also updated the LDDB entry, but my updates are usually processed very slowly Edit: Sorry, I linked the wrong picture lol...

Here's a pic I found online: Given the first inch or so of the disc appears to be clean of artwork does it have a turn to other side notice or a flipped turtle on that side or is there no readable data on that particular side? Cool looking item, thanks for posting the picture.

If it's at all like the ones I have, which it most certainly appears to be, it should have a "turn me over" message lasting a couple of minutes.

So I'm looking into picking up some of these pit-art discs as they would make great gifts for non-LD collecting friends of mine (one's a big fan of Cutey Honey, so she'd probably flip out seeing that pit-art disc.) What I normally do when gifting LDs is frame them in an LP frame, but for the pit art discs, you obviously want to display that art somehow. Been looking for picture disc art frames that display the disc cover and the disc, but some of those are pricey as all hell . . . US$89.99 - LP Vinyl Frame with SleeveHowever, turns out JoAnn Fabrics has a picture disc frame on sale right now (all frames are on sale), for only $17.99 . . . Double Record Album Frame-BlackGet it while you can!
