Ive been enjoying my Lethal weapon director's cut laserdisc with ac-3 surround sound. Own the DC dvd for years now but always wanted the LD set. It came with the 4th movie included I finally managed to get my hands on that box. took me a while to locate a mint set.

TRUE LIES (1994) dts Laserdisc 6-track dts with PLIIx plus below/overhead surround / Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System / JBL professional x73 speakers. Soundelux True Lies (1994) [0864084]Nice few dialouge pans (as well as been clear) some that move smoothly others that wipe over LCR very fast (got be listening!). Sound effects are cracking listening fun, "Here's my invitation" Kaboom over LCR and LFE.1 with the explosion rising few seconds on the surrounds. Soft sounds of a clock ticking on chapter 15 in Harry's home along with dialouge is clear and not over played on fader level on my SDDS D3000 at -2.8db. (Other films where there is a clock ticking in the background is so faint in mix level and loudness is just unbearable on Valkyrie, my mind eats breaths, sleeps and lives film soundtracks). "We meet again, Carlos". Picture transfer isn't good as the use of EE ruins the film its only a fair picture. Also some contrast saturation is a bit too high due to someone that doesn't know how to do proper colouring on the computer. Only hope when day comes the HD bluray can mirror the look of 35mm when projected. Also no near field mixing! Keep it FAR FIELD THEATRICAL!

Girl I'm interacting with online says her favorite B&W film is It's a Wonderful Life. Since I mentioned that I've never seen it in its entirety, she's now pressing me to see it. So tonight . . .

So tonight . . . It's a classic. Pretty sure it's on many lists of top films of all time. I watched it every year as a kid, so I have the nostalgia factor going, but you should watch it!

Somehow this was in storage or just sat on a shelf here for; gee it's got to be at least about 16+ years now. Finally watched it last night. Really a very humorous look at politicians and the political system particularly as it relates to the US. And things only seem to have become worse since then. I thought particularly relevant with the current circus that is the republican primaries where never-mind about politicians in the pocket of big business - big business is the politician!!

Watching Pacific Heights (1990) Dolby Stereo / Lucasfilm Ltd THX Sound System / JBL professional Rot status Low probability None detected its free of rot. Picture is about average fine in detail colour tones look fine brightness contrast fine with no artifacts that I can see being added. Dolby Stereo mix is good production average it has some music and sound effect openness in some outdoor scenes. dialouge remains clear no troubles understanding what is being said. Extras is only a chase stereo channel check and colour bar test card with 1Khz sine wave at the end of side 2. Listen out for the "lightsaber" sound effect used a few times in the film on two screen captures below / also mixed in a THX sound system theatre I wonder if that has something to do with it.

Purchased The Martian Just yesterday. One of few BR discs with 3D I really enjoyed. Stunning PQ and a superb soundtrack. Got me Everest 3D along with it... hoping to enjoy it the same. Came around watching my Lethal Weapon DC AC-3 box on LD. Happy owner here It took me some time to get my hands on that

The Martian is a legit 3D film but Everest is just a conversion. I always check this site before I buy any 3D films, most are fake 3D.

So Jurassic Park from 1993 isn't a real 3D film? I'm shocked! No, seriously. Nice link to have. A couple of new movies I though were proper 3D movies seem to not be. I do stay away from 3D in general, don't really like it. Avatar was probably the first movie in 3D that impressed me a bit.
