Just stumbled across this website.

http://www.ld-dvd.2-d.jp/index.shtml

Seems to have lots of info on the various releases of a particular title (Indy Jones, Rambo etc) from laserdisc up to Blu-ray. Some other interesting stuff as well. Even if you don't understand Japanese, the pictures are cool to look at.

Check it out.

This is an amazing site, they have some amazing info on the King Kong vs Godzilla, didn't know they lost the film and had to release the first version from a 16mm print, the later release was from the 35mm print.

They cut up the OCN for assembling a re-cut, shorter version of the film, the so-called "Champions Matsuri" version, to be shown on kids matinees in the early 1970s.

For LD release, the original 1962 version had to be reconstructed from different sources.

Yes, I own that Matusri box set and they are cut but different versions of the films that have yet to be released on DVD or Bluray that I know of.
Also some interesting info on Frankenstein vs Baragon.
I didn't know that the first LD that I had at one time was the international cut and the later release was the Japanese cut with no octopus battle at the end.
