It will be maybe too hard for my wallet to buy a Lumagen,
then I am now thinking about getting a Crystalio VPS 3800.
Do you think I could get one for around 800-900 $ ?
I search everywhere on internet, but impossible to find any way to buy one...

My opinion, is that it is a reasonable price. The main issue, is I have seen very few for sale over the last 3 years. I was fortunate enough to purchased a non-functional VPS-3800 for ~$200 USD on ebay. The reason for the cheap price was that the unit was as-is and had a blown power supply. It is not an uncommon failing, since when plugged in the power supply is always on. As a result they have a tendancy to go bad. The fix is fairly simple, and requires a uATX power supply. For ~$25 USD, I was able to fix my unit, and have been very happy with it. Hopefully you can find something, but in looking for the last 3 years, I have only found 2 for sale. Hopefully, you can find someone on the forum who has upgraded to a Lumagen 21X4 unit, and has a C2 for sale. Best of luck to you!

Searching for one month now...
Impossible to find one anywhere in earth...
Someone has one to sell here ? Or know where I could find one ?
VPS-3800 (around 1000 $ in very good condition) or 3300 (around 500$ in VG condition).

You just missed one on eBay (ended yesterday) but at ... US$2,500.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crystalio-II-VPS-3800-HDTV-Video-Processor-/132542121817

In the past few months...

$900 for a VPS-3300: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Crystalio-II-VPS-3300-Video-processor/112819380676
$1,300 for a VPS-3800: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pixel-Magic-Crystalio-II-VPS-3800-Lumagen-DVDO/162797275595

You might have to increase your budget for these units... or consider a Lumagen (priced down): Lumagen R2123/24 discontinued on curtpalme.com

Yeah... That's too bad.. I wanted to buy a Crystalio as a cheap alternative to the lumagen.
But the price become so high... It will be difficult for me to obtain a good deinterlacer this year I am afraid...
substance, just asking but, you don't have any other crystalio to sell ? ^^

No I had two, I sold both a while back. For your reference, 3300 sold for $1000 and 3800 sold for $1500, both sold in the matter of hours.. Buyers also paid for shipping and all other fees on top of these. My units were literally in brand new condition with original box and content.

I also sold a Lumagen 2144 for $2250 + ship and expenses recently. I don’t have any other video processors for sale.

These companies offer trade in programs to buy back their older models towards a newer model. They offer generous trade in credits and most original owners take advantage of this, rather than selling in the used market. Lumagen aims to control the used market by this approach which avoids the flood of their used products circulating. This is how they keep their value high. Finding a used 2144 is very difficult due to this. They only made about 400 units to begin with anyway.

Further more, Lumagen and DVDO(back in the day) offered trade credit for other units from other brands as well. They simply buy these back so that there isn’t a ton of used VP for sale which would hurt their current models sales. As you can guess, none Lumagen product trade ins simply gets recycled. This is why these quality scalers are so rare.

Been monitoring eBay for ~2 years now and haven't seen a single one pop up (except for one 2143 that was pulled off before auction's end in 2016 and one 2143 that sold last month).
Usually they go through A/V forums as direct sale in a matter of days.

You can only find Radiance XS, Radiance XD and Radiance Mini 3D on eBay, the Radiance/Radiance Pro are a rare bunch.

I get it ! (the astro)
It is a superb machine ! Able to do many things !
Today I was very surprise it could get my PC-98 signal 24hz to 31hz 480p ! It is the first time I could get signal from my PC-98 other than an analog screen !
I can now do video capture from my PC-98 !
Thousand of other fonction also. As it is a professionnal machine, they are hard to configure. Then I have to test it many hours befor posting again.
I will post a review soon on Astro category.

Get my Crystralio yesterday.
Lot of trouble for now. PSU was not connect inside the machine, neither the control panel to the motherboard... don't know why.
Now, the power is ok, menu is also displaying. I can acces to the menu.
But I can' display anything for now as HDMI out seems to not work (?).
The version is 2.10 for video projector. I would like to update to "rescue" 2.10 normal version to see if the problem would be resolve.
But official website for update is down. Someone has it somewhere ?

OK ! I updated it !
But it is not working yet...

Inside the machine there is 2 boards.
All ports of the board above seems to not respond.

Do you have an idea of the origin of the problem ?

It is a daughter board like on the Lumagen?
Have you re-seated connector, checked for power with a meter, any LED lit on the 2nd board?

I tried to find 3300 internal pics on Google but couldn't.

Dear Julien,
Thank you for your help.
I never saw a lumagen, then I don't know. But yes it is like a daughter board.
Main board seems to have no problem.
I will try to plug and unpplug the connector, and check for power.

It could be very helpful to have pictures of Crystalio inside to see if nothing is missing, and check if the connections are correct (as the Crystalio was opened).
