I bought a HLD X9 a while back and it has a couple of issues.
1 sometimes the spindle slips on the discs.
2 it can't play all CAV discs, about 27000-28000 frames the video starts acting up.
Also when playing a DTS disc about 30 minutes in to the disc I get audio drop outs.
Issue 1 can be fixed with a rubber cushion/plasti dip. Issue 2 might be a weak laser, a scope might be needed.
Now the third issue:
Saturday night I played a clv disc. When I pushed stop I sort of felt that it took a bit of time to slow down.
I ejected the tray but didn't get up directly to remove the disc. Just left it hanging there for a minute or two. All of the sudden the display of the player started blinking I removed the disc. When I pushed the eject button nothing happened.i pushed off then the off text on the display blinking too.
I waited... no sounds nothing.
I pulled the plug
I gently pushed the tray back in.
When I powered it on again after about a minute or two it on and the last bit of the tray got in to place. The display was still blinking (see video)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/16si9i2wuz21v ... 1.MOV?dl=0I pulled the plug for 20- 30 minutes and tried to have a look inside the player to see if I could see if anything was in the wrong place.
After removing the side panels and the lid I didn't get further and gave up it was around 3.AM. and I was getting tired.
I tried a last time. Connected the power, powered it on and it worked, it made the sound I was missing before, no blinking. I could eject the tray
I powered it off and it powered off as it should.
I never tested to spin a disc though.
Any ideas on this third mystery issue. this is the only thread I've found about HLD x9 display blinking
