Hey everyone,

I know this has been brought up from time to time, but I'm refreshing my thoughts a bit. I have an LD-S1 and LD-S2 that haven't been regularly used in about three years. I generally subscribe to the notion of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but I'm wondering if I should check anything before firing them up. I know they have loading belts for the tray/door, but maybe that's it? Maybe it's really just a matter of setting everything up and playing a disc. Thanks in advance for the input.

This is just my personal take but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Three years is not a long time.

However, if you are concerned, what I would do is power them up for a few minutes before trying to play a disc just to get the caps charged up from it's long shutdown.

That all makes sense, thanks ldfan. They were stored pretty well, but I guess worst case I could use some canned air to clean up any potential dust on the power supply.
