I recently watched the RetroTINK 4K video by retroRGB and I was quite impressed by a card they showed off, the Osprey 260e. You can see in the video at 30 minutes in the Laserdisc Snell & Wilcox test patterns - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br6YRkOM9jA&t=2004s. I acquired this Osprey card to put in an older PC I had with no use. So the Osprey card takes in composite from the laserdisc player and 3D combs the signal and also de-interlaces it either with reverse-telecine or motion adaptive. From there I use the MPC-BE device option which is setup to output using MadVR renderer. The result looks quite good, there are tons of settings to mess with with MadVR that improve the image. I'm happy to post how I set it up and what settings I used if anyone is interested in doing the same thing. Here are some screenshots I took:

How much did you have to spend on the 260e?

I thought it was Friends.

I paid $40 US for the card and then $24 US for the shipping. It seems like they are only really sold around America, I couldn't find any being sold in Europe. There was also the cables which I had to get separately and are proprietary; if someone had some time they could probably wire up their own, there's a diagram in the manual of which pins do what. I got somewhat lucky though, they sent me the cables for a 460e so they gave me all my money back and the cable seems to fit fine and work fine, otherwise it would have been about £75 for the cables + shipping.

If you got any kind of multimedia computer in use anyway this could be a great and affordable upgrade!

MadVR is at incredible rendering video.
I use in my HTPC but yet to use with LD.
The learning curve is steep but worth it.

Those results by pbiancardi look exceptional. Fortunately my tv is only 48" which hides a lot of the softness so I don't have to worry about blowing it up to 130". I'm very curious what setting he's used for MadVR. I think I've found the NGU Anti-Alias to be the best for luma upscaling since I find the occasional jaggies you get from zooming in on a letterboxed LD to be very distracting.
