Blood Forge is $9.99 on Microsoft Website but $14.99 on 360 Marketplace

Do I have to get the 360 Marketplace version if I want to play the 360 version or can I get the cheaper one from their website and play that on 360 too? Why is there a price difference of 5 dollars? Why is it cheaper on their main website but on the 360 Marketplace $14.99? Also, why is Microsoft closing down their store if people still download digital downloads and I still see people playing online with the xbox 360? Is it greed? Didn't Sony threaten to shut down the PS3 store but ultimately didn't because of backlash? Same won't be said about Microsoft because they're an Evil company? I posted this same topic on many websites and no one seems to have the answer to this. It is frustrating me and hurting my brain. I know some people say just ask on Microsoft's messageboard but I've seen other people ask similar questions and they never get answers so yeah this is annoying.

The $9.99 listing (xbox.com) says it's for Xbox One and Series X/S only. If you want to play on 360, it looks like 360 Marketplace is what you want.

If I had to guess, I would say the price difference wasn't a conscious decision by anyone at Microsoft, rather they just don't pay the 360 much mind as a platform anymore and haven't updated the price in some time.

As for why they'd want to close the 360 store, I guess you could can it greed, or at least a lack of sentimentality. More specifically, running servers costs money, and old games sell in lesser numbers than new ones. Nothing published exclusively on Xbox Live Arcade was ever going to be permanently available - it's the digital distribution + console generation monkey's paw.

I was afraid that would be the answer. $14.99 is a bit more than $9.99 after taxes. What is that around 16 bucks? Steep price for a game that came out in 2012 but then again I know the developers need to paid for their work. Obviously a lesser known company. I think Climate Entertainment made this. I don't believe this is the same Climate Graphics that made Blue Stinger and some of the older Genesis games.I just think they have a similar name. I couldn't find out enough information or the Wiki was confusing me because it would reference Climate Entertainment as UK game developer while I know Climate Graphics is a Japanese developer that I believe doesn't even exist anymore.

A cursory check of Wikipedia shows that the studio that made Bloodforge is "Climax Studios," which is unrelated to "Climax Entertainment," the defunct Japanese company that owned "Climax Graphics."

No offense, but I think you'd get less consternation from stuff like this if you slowed down and read the store/wiki pages closer.

Despite the Xbox Market Place saying $14.99 the game was only $9.99 and after taxes in my state came to $10.65. That's cool because while this game isn't terrible and I've had a bit of fun with it as the hack and slash game it is. i think at $14.99 or after taxes close to 16 bucks it would have frustrated me at that price. I definitely think this game is a $9.99 game. Doesn't seem like a bad game but not a great game. It has elements obviously burrowed from other games such as God of War and Sword of the Berserk Dreamcast. There's a Berserk mode that reminds me of that game. I got up to the point in the game where you get claws and it feels like you're Wolverine.
