Thanks to all who have helped me work through a stack of CLD-D703s (I have four of them).

The last issue to tackle is swapping the front panel put from a parts machine to one that has healthy guts but a very worn panel.

Question on removal and swap - it looks like its just the screws across the top to get the panel off - easy peasy EXCEPT for the ribbon cable. Is there a secret to removing this cable to remove the panel? I don't want to just pull and I'm scared to death of breaking something. Does the cable pull loose after opening the plastic like a hinge? Help! Thanks in advance for your response.

Unplug the power cord first.

There is more than one connector. As you flip the front down, mark each one and/or take a photo so you know the correct orientation.

The connectors have a lock, you can practice with the easily accessible ones running from the power supply (but don't remove any there, remove from the front panel). This lock can break if you aren't careful.

Straighten any slightly bent leads when you go to reinsert and make sure each one is in the correct hole before locking the connector.
