In the picture above he's too skinny and looks like Vanilla Ice.

Yep. And I'm proud to say my partner can't tell the difference between LD and DVD with our home theater setup!

With some LD vs DVD its a shade of tiny difference otherwise why else would I be sticking with Laserdisc? and buying it on mad buying spree for the past several months over bluray disc? One I can read the text on the Laserdisc cover and the cover artwork is also more appealing to the eye, where I don't need a magnifying glass to read what it says. I don't agree with sending my Pioneer DVL-909 off for a what might be a simple clean up and alignment that might take several hours. What about a test disc that can be used and how and what steps should be followed in order to achieving an alignment? It surely can't be that hard to do? Also it only happens on the odd few laserdiscs not all. I haven't found one episode of STAR TREK OTS that I have watched yet, that has cross-talk and no signs of Laser-rot and same goes with this film, it had or maybe its slightly warped by a tiny degree or two? Seeing the cross-talk I can handle and deal with it. Its Laser-rot that messes up the show. As for Matt Damon, I hardly noticed him over those "Jason Bourne" films, that kick-a$$ he looks better today than he did back then or maybe fame has turned him, towards eating out the fridge 24/7.

LD is better quality to me because of no pixellation, getting them for cheap or free and they are just plain cooler. Plus, I wanted a player desperately in my 1990's video store days, but on a 1990's video store wage there was no way on Oprah's green earth I could afford one. Like the lddb banner that occasionally pops up: "Buying today what we couldn't afford 20 years ago." Back then, I wanted, *wanted* the Elite 2-disc "Elm Street" but no way I could afford the $100 price tag, but I found it a few years ago for $15, or the $300 "Beatles anthology" which I nabbed for $17 at around the same time as "Elm Street". And a Facebook friend sent me his LD collection for free- around 125 titles, of which I had interest in approx 119. My partner got a 50" Sanyo LCD HDTV at Walmart for $250- it was a display model. After shutting off all the image processing and turning down the player's DNR considerably, the image is quite impressive.
