Thanks for that post. It condenses a lot of my anecdotal negativity into actual facts. If the only machine that made "normally playable" discs was the very industrial monster from ODC then when know what to tell people when the next one comes here asking this question. Does anyone have recordings known to be made with this machine?

I rewatched the video, he mentioned that even if you took the disc out of the caddy it wouldn't work in a standard LD player because it's a different format- as it's CRV not RLV. The RLV's were the ones he opened up talking about for a couple minutes with the red coloring.
