Imagine that today I just walked into a thrift store and found one for $10 It stared at me from across the store and it was love at first sight lol. I already have too many LD players and am not much of a gamer but it is a pretty cool machine. It's in really good condition so if anyone is looking for one PM me and lets work something out.

Finally found the time to write updates for LaserActive! The "Video/Compatibility" initially called LD-ROM will be kept and new MEGA-LD & LD-ROM2 will be added. That means that all previous LD-ROM entries will need to be updated like MEGA-LD (PEAS*) and LD-ROM2 (PEAN*). Attachment:

If a game can be played without a PAC on CLD-A100 then let's just use NTSC or PAL as usual. Julien

i used to want one of these so bad i could taste it.
eventually, i added many JPN MD games to my collection, - which my early GENESIS console was ready to accept with only a slight physical modification - and i found out that the A100's GENESIS/MD module was prone to leaky cap problems, and i pretty much swore right off the notion of owning one right then and there.
even so, with the prices the system commands today, i couldn't begin to entertain the notion of acquiring the damned thing even if i still desired to. my healthy, refurbished PIONEER CLD-3030 and STEREO-RCA-modded GENESIS does everything the CLD-A100 could ever do, aside from running SEGA/MEGA-CD and LaserActive games, which i have little more than passing interest in in any case...

It really doesn't seem like a system worth the entry fee, except as a novelty. And if you're gonna pay that much money for a system and games, you might as well get the NeoGeo, which actually has a whole bunch of arcade classics on it. Then again, how many of us are on this website because of novelty?
