Hi @all,

i have to make an adjustment on my CLD-D925 and here i have a question about it.
In the service manual are some images from the result of an oscilloscope. Look at the both images. What means "max" here exactly? Ist is the 100% Range marked on the screen of the oscilloscope? Or is it just 1 DIV?
Hope my question is clear enough and somebody could answer it;)

Pretty sure that simply means that you adjust the setting to maximise the amplitude of the signal shown.

No experience here but you must do this at your own risk.

It looks like you should have that wavelength in that area and not over it.

But again I have no idea and do not own an oscilloscope, test disc or have even fixed players.
So any advice you get here is at your own risk.

Kurtis and Grasshopper are the only ones but Grasshopper is off the forum now and Kurtis is the only one that checks in from time to time.
Good luck.

Tanks a lot nextwednesday :) That was my thought too that i should maximise the amplitude like shown in the manual. But i was not sure.

Yes rein-o i know about this, thanks for your hint :) It is not the first time that i am doing an adjustment with my equipment and of course with my oscilloscope. the last was on my Denon DCD-1500II and an old Marantz PM-40 and last year on my Denon AVR-3801
None of them was "broken" after this ;)

Yes i will report here if it works. I am still waiting for the new motor holder VNL 1779, the old one is nearly broken so the player couldn't change to side B
But an adjustment is neccessary even the holder has not been broken, the tracking works no more fine.

Thanks!

If you have the player paused on a still make sure it is a CAV recorded LD. And yes, adjust for max amplitude, don't worry about volts per division. Test mode is also preferred and setup as in the service manual (tilt, servo, etc ON or OFF).

Ok, i will look for a CAV LD. I have just "normal" LDs from Dire Straits. Can you tell me a title of a CAV LD?
Of course in the testmode (i have a little button placed on the back of the player to get easy in the testmode) ;)

Not sure if it helps or not, but ff any of your music LDs have a blank/not used side (i.e. playing it says 'material only recorded on other side of disc'), that message is usually recorded on CAV.
