Hello

Open the bottom cover
Played with a disc inserted

The disc rotates as soon as the power is turned on.
It was confirmed that a red laser was applied to the disc from the gap.

I tried again
The state did not change

Laser irradiation also works
Could not access the mirror
→ Wiring is complicated

The disc rotates, but you hear a rattling sound
It's like a pip-up looking for a disc

Model not sold in Japan at the time
I think only I own the Japanese

How did you determine the laser is firing? The HeNe tubes Philips used were horrible and out gassed within a few years.

While I know nothing about this player or much of the older players tech wise.

Just because it lights up does that mean it actually works????
Does it actually light up enough??

At least its a nice looking paperweight. Its a shame as I always loved the look of those players and always wanted one but just don't have that
extra space or money when I could buy a piece of signed art to look at. Or pay someone to make a painting of the player

I think it would be easier to transplant a better player into the same shell. Normally that’s work not worth doing but it would be easier then getting one of these working with OG works, I’m pretty sure. The case is huge so that’s good.

I made a phone call to a repairman in Japan.

He is a former pioneer engineer

If the mirror is out of order, he said

“I can guess that the neck of the Trikng mirror is shaken off.

As a matter of course, the same three-axis adjustment as the current one is required.

This adjustment is absolutely impossible unless there is a dedicated optical axis adjuster. "

So you're telling me there's a chance?

Sounds about as likely as me finding a Laserdisc Recorder.

A rather apt analogy I hadn't thought of.

I bet the combined number of working VH800x players* and ODC LaserDisc recorders can be counted on one hand... if that. (This bet does not extend to the VP600/700 PAL versions. A few of those might work. might.)

(* - to be generous, ones that can play disks, even without color, without regularly gouging the disk trying to focus it ;) )

edit: This is the closest I've seen https://youtu.be/Eg8tK1LpLS8?t=673

How about
I'm worried about circuit peeling.
Even he is difficult (money and time)

But he also knows HLD-X0

Yes. I know that channel too

Moving Magna Vision is enviable

I'm going to leave with a repairman someday

Man you are rich.
Throwing good money after bad, this will unfortunately never be working and you will pay minimum of 75 dollars to have this tech look at it.
Even if they can fix it there are no parts, I am positive that they will find out a part is bad and you can't fix it and will have spent more money.

Stop while you are ahead.
Good Luck.
