You're only stupid if you don't do your research first and choose to spend your money before you even know what you're getting yourself into.

By the way, does a MUSE decoder with a built-in LD+G decoder exist?

Well I am doing my research, I'm asking questions aren't I?

Besides, I'm not even in the business of buying one.

HLD-X0 first, single-sided, in 1995.
HLD-X9 later, double-sided, in 1996.

X9 lasted longer though so you can potentially find one made in 2000.

Actually production continued until 2002 for x9 but they made something like 50 player in that year.

1999 was the last year x0 was manufactured. They made a total of 1500 units between 1995 and 1999. I believe something like 1350 were made in 1995 and 1996.

Does it have an hour meter? I ask because I’d be way more interested in that than five years either way on something 20 years old.

Interesting, my cheapy projector has one, would have been cool to have such a device of some type on LD players but I think they were too old???

I do remember that arcade games had it but once you unplugged them you lost that, so you had to add some type of battery inside the machine to keep some
power to the board to keep such info.

Nicolas Santini's old site quotes May 2002 as the last X9 production.

I'd be curious / worried if previous owner(s) played a lot of Muse discs since I assume that the faster RPMs could **potentially** cause more wear and tear than standard LDs.

Perhaps on the spindle motor and bearings to a small degree, oh and the rubber grip ring too, but don't see how beyond that.
