But for those who love their Cronenberg unfiltered this would be right up their alley. His films are certainly not to all tastes but I do like most of his films though some I doubt I will be viewing again in a hurry. I do remember that when showing Dead Ringers on its first release (1988) it was one of the few films that had some people, not many but a few, walking out before the end with a couple being rather vocal saying that it was sick & warped & questioning why were we showing "things like that". Watched eXistenZ again last night, not seen it for a few years & enjoyed it again - a great transfer on LD. Most of his features up to eXistenZ are on laserdisc so might dig a few out & spin them again. Now, what to spin up first?

Rounders (1998) [15961 AS]"He beeut me....strayytupp...pay heem......pay dat mahn hees moneey." I would say this would be the best gambling movie ever made, IMO. What else you got? The Sting, The Hustler, or The Cincinnati Kid. Maybe The Color of Money or modern favorite Mississippi Grind is more your style.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day: Special Edition (1991) (Uncut) [PSE82997-6WS]
I spent the afternoon with while have a few cheeky rum and cokes. Picture quality i thought was spectacular for LD, really surprised me to be honest. Movie is still a good in my eyes even today.
Went through all the supplement discs, holy moly a lot of effort not only went in to the film itself but im sure it took awhile to do all the frame-by-frame photos, text etc in the supplements. Hi jakeheke, T2 - the transfer on that set really is 1st class & the extras are the cherry on the top with the Guns n Roses bit that is not on the later DVD issues. A lovely set all round. Been spinning a few LDs also just now & got a few more on the watch list. Cheers

Among a quite a number of so called Bruceploitation movies that really were pretty sick. "Bruce Fights Back From Beyond The Grave" - "Bruce Is Back" - "The Master Returns" - "Bruce Is Back To Right The Wrongs" were among many taglines used on a number of films.
Watch them if you must but don't pay to do it. You really have not missed anything if you have not seen them.
Cheers Don't forget The Clones of Bruce Lee Thanks deadlegion but I would rather forget that one. Mark Pollard on the Kung Fu Cinema website summed up the film with..... "Clones of Bruce Lee is the Plan 9 from Outer Space of Hong Kong cinema. It's the very definition of bad film making and sleazy exploitation. Expect to witness mad scientists bent on world domination, death rays, bronzemen, and naked women frolicking on the beach. Despite some decent kung fu action, particularly with Bolo, it's so bad you'll laugh or turn it off." & that was one of the less harsh reviews. Cheers Amazing that Tubi has this for free, I just watched over half last night. Not as bad at the review, but its not an amazing film. It was pretty funny to see the bronzemen scene, really loved the first or early bronzemen film with Carter Wong. Tubi has a bunch of stuff for free check it out from roku or possibly on line? Not trying to sell it, they just have a bunch of stuff for free to watch.

TBH that sounds pretty darn cool to me If you like the sound of that, you should check out Dragon Lives Again. Bruce Lee goes to hell and teams up with Popeye, the one-armed swordsman and Caine from TV's Kung Fu to fight characters like Dracula, James Bond, Zatoichi, the Godfather and Emmanuelle Sounds something like Fantasy Mission Force, an old fave of mine

I tell you how much I love that film, I tracked down a set of reels for it that are being preserved at a college library in the USA. I asked the library about it and if it was possible to get them in contact with a releasing company so they could run a 4K telecine of the reels. I tried really hard. Got them in touch with a few people but it's so far come to nothing. It's a massive shame. The film is just sitting there awaiting rescuing! It's part of a collection of Aquarius Releasing films. These would have been screened at grindhouses in New York in the 1970's and 80's. The real deal!!!! I don't know if the Aqaurius reels are just 16mm interpositives or 35mm runs. Probably the former. Either way, there is material there that may perish if it's not rescued. It saddens me to think of the film wasting away unloved. Whopper film. If anyone wants to try rescuing those reels for a 4K remaster, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the library contact I have.

I wish you all the best of luck finding a way (or a person) to not have the reels lost, so much stuff lying in storage all around the world that is often cleared out before it can be checked & perhaps saved/put to use. Again good luck

Again good luck This is the thing though. I was in talks with the college library. It's in a preservation unit. The reels are not allowed to leave the library and can only be viewed on a telecine on site. They confirmed the collection is present and complete. It absolutely breaks my heart to think of that whopper film sat there gathering dust and I can't do anything about it. I tried. I really did. I spoke to the guys behind The Leg Fighters blu ray that came out end of last year. They are super preservation activists. But talks stalled. Possibly because there may be a lot of red tape with the college? I don't know. I hope someone can come in and help I really do. There's a lot of stuff there going to be lost forever. As for Bruce Lee Fights Back From The Grave, I've yet to find mention of another set of the reels in existence anywhere in the world. This could be our only hope to save it. The problem being that a lot of HK/CN/TW/KOR stuff made back then was just spliced, diced, distrubuted and chucked away to decay without a second thought. So many films are now lost or near impossible to save because of this. All we can do is hope I guess...

signofzeta wrote: What school is it?
I’m somewhat involved with the University of Michigan and I can assure you space is a premium at even the big schools. I don’t think UofM has any real to real tape anymore at all, for example. If you like the movie that much I’d suggest staying in contact with them and trying to buy it. It is a school after all so I’m sure they like money. I wish. If it's an interpositive or something like that it could be thousands of dollars. Way out of my league alas. Unless we could crowdfund it and offer to buy the whole Aquarius collection! Sure if it helps it's located in Wisconsin: https://www.wisconsinhistory.org/wcftr/ ... m_id=3289725 films. Direct from the home of grindhouse, New York! We live in hope... EDIT: Just noticed as well. It's 35mm. That's unbelievable. It's also going to cost an absolute fortune I imagine. Still, it's there if someone wants to help. Good luck! EDIT 2: I spoke to them last around Feb 2019 and they were very friendly and helpful. I can still contact them if anyone wants a serious introduction and to hop on to the existing email discussion to save starting again with them. EDIT 3: More information I just dug up from my email discussion with them is this link: http://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi/f/ ... -whs-ha917

Nope. It's a huge set of wonderful films that all need saving though. Straight from the grindhouse Mecca of NY (and my beloved Mets )! I watched Airport 75 last night. Decided to torture myself with Airport 77 tonight. Tomorrow it'll be film suicide as I suppose I'd better watch Airport 79 The Concorde to feed the OCD in me now I've watched two of them. Feck sake. Here's my review diary of everything I watch anyway if anyone cares. https://letterboxd.com/UltraRadium/films/diary/

Nooooo!!!! Karen Black was iconic in Airport 75! 77 was the painting one. The museum plane. Don't worry, I keep mixing them up too because of Linda Blair. Concorde was super poo though. Dear God. Maybe I'll delay it and watch Airport instead as I should have watched that last night instead of 75. But then my viewing order will be 75, 77, 70, 79 instead of 75, 77, 79, 70. It's bad enough I didn't go 70, 75, 77, 79. I don't think my OCD could cope. Then again, I dont think my soul could cope with 79 tomorrow night. Did you know there was an Airport 78? By name only.
