Recently picked up a copy of the Trial (1993 remake, based on the Kafka novel). Disc manufactured in Japan but it appears made for distribution in English-speaking countries. Very little in the LDDB database about it? I gather the film was not well recieved, which surprises me. Maclachlan, Hopkins & Robards - 3 of my fav actors - are the leads!

gypsy wrote: I watch LD on CRT so that's definitely not an issue. I have an LED set that gives me CC, I've heard that some sets don't do the CC anymore but its sort of odd as I thought it was a mandatory thing in the USA?? Unless they changed that rule I have thought about picking up those CC decoders for my projector but I just don't watch that much stuff to use CC on the projector.

rein-o wrote: That Ghost in the Shell box is fantastic, I had it but since my collecting habits are changing I sold it off and picked up the DVD. From what I remember without searching it also had CC English subtitles so you can watch it on your TV without anything extra unless you don't have CC in your TV. It also has english subs on the LD+G channel, if my memory serves me correctly.

So if you don't have LD+G on your player or stand alone decoder you can still get the English.
