I'm planning on getting a $100 eBay gift card for my birthday in October and I would like to get a Laserdisc player by then. Are there any working Laserdisc players on eBay that are sold for under $100? Or should I get a much higher-priced eBay gift card for a more expensive Laserdisc player?
If not on eBay, then where else can I get a Laserdisc player for a cheap price? :?:

You CAN get an LD player for $100, many times people give the things away. eBay isn’t really the place at that budget though. Shipping is going to be $35 alone and the chances of it being broken in transit are probably...%30 or so when you’re buying from low end sellers.

If your budget is that low I would really really try to use Craigslist and buy locally. Do you live near civilization? If you can get to Cincinnati or Jersey City or Bolder or Detroit or Miami or Austin you’re much better off getting it in person. Much much better off. If you live in some wasteland like South Dakota or Alaska or east Texas or Michigan’s upper peninsula then probably $100 isn’t enough to buy and ship a working one to you.

I live in Minnesota, but OK, thanks.

I would sell you one of my players but I would never ship it.
You can and will find one but it will take time.
Good luck.

Yeah - if you can buy a player locally - even if it means doing something like renting a car for a day.

Some models are worse than others... the M-series CD changing models are especially bad, and the 1995 players with the first M-Holder (CLD-104/504/604/59) are getting that bad as well.

On the flip side, I've found that later production CLD-V2800's ship easily, but even then it's a bit of a crapshoot.

I'd definitely try locally for awhile before resorting to eBay. Even if someone packs well there is always a risk.

I've got the two players I use for $10 and $175 (with a ton of LDs even if they LDs were valued at only a dollar each the player was $75 or less I don't remember the total number). The $10 one doesn't have as good of CAV features or digital audio out but it was $10 and works.

Also a note be sure to search for laserdisc (correct) and laser disc (incorrect but people type it this way all the time). You'll get more results checking for both if the site is picky in how it searches I know this was an issue on craigslist.

I picked up a CLD-D704 clone for the incredible price of $40. Not going to find a deal like that on eBay and since it was a local pick-up from a used electronics store there was no chance of damage.

I’d definitely would try searching the local area where you are. Might just find a gem waiting to be discovered.
